2. What is Constellations?
Constellations are patterns of stars
that people have imagined to form
shapes of animals, objects, or
mythical beings in the night sky for
thousands of years.
3. Different cultures have named and
grouped the stars differently, but
today we use 88 official
constellations recognized by the
International Astronomical Union
(IAU).
4. Almost all constellations represent animals,
humans, or mythological figures, such as Orion
the hunter, Ursa Major the big bear, or
Andromeda the princess.

5. A few constellations are part of the zodiac, which
means they lie along the sun's path across the sky.
For example Aries the ram, Aquarius the water
bearer, and Leo the lion, and many more.
6. Constellations are also able to help
us navigate, locate other stars and
planets, and learn many things
about the history and culture of
astronomy.
Interesting right?
7. To be able to find constellations, you
need a clear night, a star map or app,
and at least have patience. Look for
bright stars, familiar shapes, and
seasonal changes.
