Types or Styles of Leadership Laissez-Faire Leadership • The French phrase Laissez-Faire means “leave it be” and is used to describe a leader who leaves his or her colleagues to get on with their work offering little or no guidance. • laissez-faire leadership works for teams in which the individuals are very qualified, experienced, expert and skilled self-starters. 4/18/2019 9
