2. What did you learn in pre-production
that you will consider in your c/w?
We learnt in pre-production to plan our story, props, location,
setting and plan our route with storyboards and overhead
plans so we know what to do on the day of production.
3. What did you learn in production that you will consider in your c/w?
We learnt in production to keep our audience entertained
using a variety of shots, match on action, the use of the 180
degree rule to avoid confusion and increase continuity but
most importantly being able to keep it flowing smoothly.
4. What did you learn in post-production that
you will consider in your actual c/w?
We learnt in post-production how to edit and crop our
film to make it run smoothly and to add effects if we
want it with effects. We learnt what we have to improve
on and how we can make our main OTS even better.
5. •Identify any mistakes you made or what
you would do to improve if we're to do
the preliminary again.
Some props from the table were moved without being shown in the shot which would
confuse the audience. If we were to do the preliminary again, we would make sure all
unnecessary props are off of the table so they aren't in the shot at one angle and then not
there in the next.
Also, the camera may have been shaky at some points in filming. We would improved this if
we did it again by making sure the tripod is stable and we filmed when it wasn't windy.
This experience and practice will also help us in the main OTS we're making.
The weather was also a problem for the outside shots. Specifically, the wind made our video
moderately hard to watch and unable to enjoy it as much. We would have to use the wind
reduction effect on the camera in the future and film when there's little to no wind.
6. Explain why the preliminary was a
useful task in preparation for your c/w.
The preliminary task was helpful as we can
improve on our continuity, match on action,
continuous editing and variety of shots. This
experience will give us an advantage in our
upcoming OTS.
