 He died in 70.
 He lived in Alexandria.
 He was a Greek engineer, physicist and mathematician.
 His main work is made up of three books, "Metrica" (the science of
measurement). The first book involves measuring surface. Here you are given
Heron's famous formula for area of a triangle. The second book covers the
issues of volume calculation. The last book contains problems sharing of plane
figures and spatial remaining parts to one another in a numerical ratio.

 Machines for drawing water;
 Siege engines;
 The formula for area of a triangle (Heron’s formula);
 The formulas on the surface and the volume of other geometrical figures;
 Methods of estimating the elements.

4. Heron’s formula
 With the Heron’s formula we can calculate the area of a triangle if we know
the length of its sides.
