2. The Objectives
In accordance with Sunshine State
Standards and Sunshine State Standards
for Special Diploma, Students enrolled in a
Florida Public School in an Exceptional
Education Program K-4 will maintain or
exceed expectations.
Students from ESE classes will participate
in an online learning program that affords
them the opportunity to keep up with
lessons learned previously and will receive
introductory lessons into lessons for the up
coming school year.
3. The Technologies
Print – students will stay connected
through Blogs and emails. They will
also be building their writing skills
using sources such as Never Ending
Story (http://www.infinite-story.com/)
Audio/video – students will control
their own outcome using their own
voice applications and uploading
personal videos using Voice Thread
for voice applications and videos will
be added through sources such as
MyDeo (www.mydeo.com).
4. The Technologies
Radio/television – students will be
able to search Television Network
and Radio podcasts or United
Streaming resources for radio and
television as supportive
documentation into research
projects.
Teleconferencing will be conducted
through VoiceThread.
5. Computer and Web-based
Learning
All lessons, practice work and
assessments will be completed
using computer/Web-based
since this program will be used
initially as a summer program
and eventually as
supplemental/remedial
assignments.
6. Technological Contributions
Research topics will be created and
discussed using Blogs and email
correspondence. Once these topics have
been decided upon, students will research
for documentation to create their
assignments. They will set up bookmark
accounts from which they can collaborate
and share their findings with partnered
students.
7. The Product
Students will have options from which to
present their reports.
1. They may create a web site
or wiki for a written report with each member
of the group editing or adding to the
product.
2. They may present an oral report using
applications such as Voice Thread with
each member of the group sharing in the
conference.
3. They may present a video presentation
(using skit, role play or reenactment) as a
small group.
8. Supplemental Learning
Students will be provided with
computer based lessons in addition
to their project. These lessons will
be resources for practicing what they
learned during the previous school
year.

11. The Role of the Teacher
The teacher(s) will be available for consult
at anytime by way of email and instant
messaging.
The teacher(s) will be a semi-inactive
member of each small group, allowing her to
monitor progress and offer input as needed.
The teacher(s) will be assessing all student
work; receiving email confirmation of grades
from non-project computer based lessons
and exercises.
The teacher(s) will be assessing the final
project, providing participation grades as
well as grading on the quantity and quality
of the final product.
