As a Credit and collections manager I have two primary responsibilities. One is to evaluate and
review credit applications to determine if the customers are likely to repay their debts. The other is to
follow up on the customers and find ways to enforce repayment for overdue balances:
Planning, evaluating, implementing and continuously improving all aspects of
credit & collection functions and processes.
Put a perfect structure to the Billing Department to implement processes and
policies that contribute to accurate invoicing and submission to the customer on
time.
Working closely with CFO to respond to credit and collection concerns with existing
and potential clients.
Direct interaction with selected clients in resolving receivables delinquencies and
negotiate the repayment plans.
Evaluate the customer credit worthiness through many ways to determine the
level of risk before dealing with them.
Ensuring professional relationships are established and maintained with clients.
Lead Collections team and processes for portfolios resulting in the optimal
receivables performance through day-to-day leadership and direction to Collection
team and review and analysis of all department KPI and improve the DSO (day’s
sales outstanding).
Ensure proper succession planning, implement reviews on collections performance,
develop and implement strategic collections, operating plans and optimize
program operations (structure, processes, and tools).
Facilitate the rapid development and implementation of key company initiatives
through collaborative efforts with all levels of management and departments.
Handle all the collection processes before the due date till the collection of the
money like emails, Calls, visits, letters and meet targets set by the company.
Follow up on daily and weekly basis with the collection team and make sure that
debts are paid in a timely manner.
Prepare the documentation necessary to create the Credit or Debit Memo
necessary to true up a Customer account.
Relays to Controller any and all accounts that need to be written off to bad debt.
Resolving customer issues, incorrectly shipped products, billing issues, and

Before my joining there were no departments as the billing was being done by
the warehouse team and the collections by the sales team.

Receiving all types of LCs (letter of credit) from our customers and handling all
the processes as per LC terms till receiving our money.
Receiving the bank statements from the account receivable department on daily
basis and match all payments with our invoices.
Solving all the issues related to payment like rejections or wrong deliveries
and…….etc with the sales team and the operation department.
Working on ERP system and improve the program of the collection and
invoicing department.
Managing the company CRM (customer relationship management) on ERP
system.
Achievements:
Moving the company from more than 90 million overdue to 5 million only in my
first year.
Founder of the collections and invoicing DEP in the company.
Put a full structure to the invoicing and collections department and hence I
decreased the customer complaints on our invoices and the payments became
coming easily.
Yearly collections is about (90-95%) of the total outstanding amount.
Matching all the payment received during the last 5 years - that still not
posted- with our invoices by visiting all the customer and asking them about
these payments.
Increasing the cash flow of the company in the last 3 years than any years
before.
I designed a perfect collections program on the ERP system that helps the
collectors to easy the follow ups with the customers, records all the chasing
processes, printing the statement of accounts of the customers and prepare the
needed reports like ageing reports, overdue reports and the collection reports.
