Alexia Levite worked on this historic project as the
project manager working with the HPRB staff and as
technical coordinator, in providing services in
connection with this historic building as a partner at
ANCL Architects . She has worked with historic
review boards and commissions in many jurisdictions
including Washington, D.C.
Chevy Chase Arcade involved the restoration and
remodeling of an existing historic retail arcade
building which also housed office space on the second
floor, bringing it up-to-date with the current ADA and
building codes. Included was the conversion of a
lower level basement area into leasable office space.
Important to this project was the retrofit of an elevator
shaft, two new elevators and an elevator lobby into the
existing building. The construction was accomplished
without disruption to the existing retail and office
tenants.
