Physical and psychological development during high school is characterized by erratic changes as the body grows. Hormonal imbalances can lead to mood swings and issues with body image. While the body grows taller and stronger, bone growth outpaces muscle growth. Socially, high school students are interested in social networking, entertainment, new experiences, and physical exercise as they develop their adult identity and place in the world.
