Lockdown has created more empathy and urgency to act
Everyone has been placed in a position that many people from the disabilities
community may face- they can not easily go out of the house and are relying more
on Websites and Apps.
Many everyday tasks like managing your work, education, wellness, wealth are
being completed online.
Now imagine you can not complete a task on the website or app you need.
This is the importance of digital accessibility and inclusion for all.
6. DOJ joined many private cases in 2000-2015 on the side of Plaintiffs to establish that
Websites and Apps were subject to the ADA. Settlements agreed to included
damages and remedying Websites to conform to WCAG. At the end of 2017, the
DOJ suspended moving forward with ADA specifications, leaving a void now filled by
private lawsuits.
