Created by Susan McNaughton, Edinburgh based social media manager for festivals and events in central Scotland.
2. TWITTER SPAM
Like any other form of communication, there is
junk mail
Be wary and keep your account details secure
Fishing/Pfishing for your password
Giving your log-in to an application without
realising
Twitter does try to keep the site safe – report and
block spammers to assist
3. BEWARE!
Which of these DMs
would you delete
immediately?
Spam spreads through
people clicking on
bogus links
5. GENERAL RULES
Don’t click on a link if you don’t trust or know the
source
If you suspect your account has been ‘hacked’
then change your password immediately
Check which applications have access to your
account and revoke any you no longer need or
don’t recognise
