2.  Physics
-The legs of a
giraffe are 6 feet (1.8 meters) long
-A giraffe's heart is 2 feet (0.6 meters)
long and weighs about
25 pounds (11 kilograms)
-Lungs can hold 12 gallons (55 litres)
of air

3. -A newborn giraffe will measure about 6 feet tall and grow
about an inch per day,
doubling its height in the first year.
-Dark spots help them to blend into the trees in the
background in dappled sunlight

4. -The average size of a giraffe's tongue is about
18 inches(45-50cm).

5. Chemistry
-Giraffes are thought to be MUTE. However, recent research
has shown evidence that the animal communicates at
an INFRASOUND level with a surprising level of complexity.

which is one of the
giraffe's favourite foods.
-A giraffe’s tongue has thickened
papillae, which helps to protect it
From these vicious thorns.
-Thick saliva is also believed to help
to protect the giraffe’s tongue
and mouth against the defensive
mechanisms of their favourite food.

-The 11 malodorous(odorous) chemical
compounds found in giraffe hair can be found
in a built-in tick and fungus repellent.

-Giraffe pregnancy lasts about
15 months (400-460 days)
-The blood vessels and valves
in the neck are elastic

9. -When a giraffe lowers its head, blood flow suddenly
increases
-Vessels thin out when a giraffe lowers its head to
slow the rush of blood

-The giraffe is the tallest
mammal in the world,
with even new-born babies
being taller than most humans.
-Just like snowflakes and human
fingerprints, no two giraffes
have the same spot pattern.
-They can sleep while eating

These herds may separate to graze for the
day, but they always stay within hearing and
vision range of each other.

we belong. We treasure our heritage and
take pride in shaping our own unique way

centers into the wild

 Giraffes can go for several days without water
 Their long necks help them to see far away.
 Long legs to keep them high up so that it is harder for the
predators to attack them.
