This document identifies and addresses potential risks for an outdoor film shoot called "The Hunt". It lists risks such as bad weather, actor illness/injury, unavailable or unreliable actors, equipment issues, broken props, and location hazards. The document proposes solutions to prevent or overcome each risk, such as checking weather forecasts, having backup actors and props, testing equipment batteries, and inspecting locations for safety and interference. The overall responsibility to address these risks falls to the filmmaker, Declan.
1. Risk Assessment for The Hunt
Risk Identified Shooting Location Responsibility Overcoming or Preventing Risk
Weather Outdoors N/A To prevent this risk I will check the
weather a couple of days before
hand so I do not cancel on a last
minute decision which would be
bad planning although if it does rain
when the forecast said it wasn’t
then it is out of my hands as I
cannot control the weather. In
addition, if the wind is too strong
then the sound will not be valid and
therefore ruined a shoot.
Illness/injury N/A Declan and Actors To prevent this risk I would need to
ensure that all unfortunate
outcomes are prevented. For
example, if one of my actors were ill
then I would need to get a backup
actor to fill in his/her place.
Unavailable Actors N/A Declan and Actors To prevent this risk, my actors must
be reliable and I must have backup
actors. My actors must show up to
the shoot in good time as if they are
late this may ruin my shoot if there
is not enough time and other actors
may become inpatient and not
willing to shoot again if I need them.
Formatting
malfunction or
memory card full.
N/A Declan and Actors To make sure that the memory card
is not full up I will check before the
shoot that the card is empty. I will
also check by inserting the memory
card into my computer and deleting
previous old footage.
Low Battery N/A Declan As the equipment such as the tripod
and the camera will be from the
college, I had to check the battery
level before I filmed as it may be
low and if so, I would charge the
battery.
Broken
Props/Costumes
N/A Declan During the filming if a prop breaks I
must have a replacement this will
make sure the shoot is not ruined. If
there is no other prop available I
would need to reschedule the shoot
at a time when I have a new prop or
have fixed the broken one.
To avoid the possibility of not
2. Unable to get props N/A Declan getting the props or costumes on
time, we will make sure that we
check what costumes we need a
week before the shoot. This will
make sure we have enough time to
acquire the props and costumes.
Trip Hazard Outside Declan Outside where I am filming there
could be trip hazards such as
broken glass or bins in the way of
filming. We will need to make sure
the area is safe for its safe and us to
work in for the actors.
Location Safety Outdoors Declan I will visit the filming placed before
hand to make sure that they are
safe locations to film at. Once I
know they are safe we will shoot
there, but again on the filming day
will assess the location just to make
sure there will be no threat to the
actors or I.
Public Interference Outdoors Declan The public will be around when we
are filming at certain locations, to
make sure we are all safe we will
need to assess the filming location,
This will entail looking for people
who way want to steal the
equipment.
