India's highest award for lifetime
achievement in sports and games,
given by the Government of India.
The award is named after the
legendary Indian hockey player
Dhyan Chand.
The award was initiated in 2002.
The award carries a cash prize
of 5 lakhs.
In August 2013, 4 individuals were
awarded the Dhyan Chand Award:
Syed Ali (Hockey), Mary D'Souza
(Athletics), Anil Maan (Wrestling)
and Giriraj Singh (Para-Sports).[

got this award for the sports such as,
Athletics,wrestling, Cricket,Basket ball,volley
ball,swimming and Para-sports.
59. ELIGIBILITY
Given to children between the ages of six to
eighteen.
The award includes a medal, a certificate,
and a cash prize.
The Bharat Award winner gets a gold medal,
while the rest get a silver medal.
Each child is also given financial assistance
to complete his or her schooling.
