1. Passenger is a popular UK artist known for his indie folk music. At the
beginning of the song/ music video we are instantly introduced with type of
music video it will be as the first shot is of masses of trees outside therefore it
is evident the video may be an indie folk video.

2. Mise-en-scene
The mise en scene is what represents the genre of song the music video is
categorised into. A common prop used within indie folk music videos is a guitar
which 'Passenger' uses in his music video, the artist himself is sat performing the
song 'restless wind'. Whilst the artist is playing you see a large open countryside
however the artist is only in focus which makes the audience focus on the one
character. The video is set in North America where he captures picturesque views of
beaches, a pier, woodlands, the sea and life in the city. The lighting stays light, bright
to represent the mood and tone of the song as the majority of what we see is using
the sunlight. By using natural sunlight it supports the genre of song. Passenger is
dressed in casual clothing as the other characters are also dressed however the
footage of other people featured in the video are not intentional.

3. Camera
Each shot has an average length of 4-5 seconds
however the length varies slightly, the length of the
shots contributes to creating a soft transition from
each shot to the next. The camera movement for
each alternating shot of the 'nature' aspect of the
video is moving slowly into the environment in that
specific shot. The slow movement of the camera
reflects the title of the song about 'restless
wind'. Each camera shot is either a wide shot or
long shot that aims to show to area and setting of
the video, by presenting large shots allows the
audience to take in what they are watching and
gain a feel as to what the music video is trying to
present. A birds eye camera angle is used a few
times throughout the video which allows the
audience to gain a different spatial perspective of
the positive views.

sun is out, using appealing views, the use of an
artist performing and using imagery of the

theory because it does not feature any women in the video. Andrew Goodwin's
theory is used because you are bale to apply aspects of the theory such as the
speed of the song is reflected through the cuts and length of the shots. The
slower the cut, the slower the tempo. The star image is advertised through the
artist himself performing the song which enables the audience to know who the
artist is and is a different way of advertising. In some ways the video is an
illustrative video because it includes shots of the impact of wind for example a
flag blowing. Technical codes are thought about through the construction of this
music video by the visuals reflecting the mood and tone of the song, it permits a
calm and relaxed feel.
