The document discusses the poster, magazine cover, and trailer created by the author for a class project about obsession. For the poster, the author likes that the main image catches the audience's attention without revealing the full story and symbolizes obsession. For the magazine cover, the author used similar red and white colors as the trailer and portrayed the main character as desirable to hook the audience. Shots from the poster and trailer connect by showing close-up emotions of confusion/mystery and fear/shock. The author reflects that using the colors red, white, and black throughout ties all elements together but could improve by making images darker and main character appear more hidden.
2. This is my finished poster for my teaser trailer. I
think this is effective because there is one main
image that instantly catches my audiences eye but
doesn't reveal the whole story. I like the fact that he
is grabbing her face and controlling her as this
symbolizes being obsessed with someone and the
fact that he doesn’t want to leave her alone. I like
that I used a plain background and just used black
because this means that you don’t know where he’s
got her and where he is hiding her.
I also like the fact that you can’t see much of his
face because before the audience see the trailer
they wont know who he is to her until he turns
nasty. Another quality to my magazine that I liked
was the fact that the picture on this poster links with
some of the shots in my teaser trailer.
3. This is my finished magazine cover. As you can
see the image is very different from my poster
and that’s because I wanted to keep my
magazine involved with my trailer by using the red
and white colours. I wanted to have the main
image different because I wanted to make the
image involved with the title “OBSESSED” and I
wanted to do this with the red dress and lipstick
and making her desirable to the audience so they
get hooked on her, just like the man in the teaser
trailer.
4. This is the picture from my poster
and a shot in my teaser trailer
and I think they both connect as
they are both close up shots and
they both show emotion, the first
one confusion and mystery and
the second fear and shock. I think
this is effective because it
focuses a main point of attention.
I think the fact that I’ve used the colour
white for some of the small text and the
fact that in my trailer its snowing makes it
relevant and also the fact that the killer is
wearing a red, black and white jacket
makes everything tie in. Although these
things aren't extremely obvious I still think
it makes everything work and fit in.
5. When looking back at my magazine and comparing it to my teaser trailer I noticed
the main similarity is the focus on the main character and also the colours red,
white and black. I used these colours throughout my project as I think they work
well together. I don’t think my magazine is very relevant to my teaser trailer apart
from the colours used and the main characters. I do like the fact that the magazine
has separate contents to my teaser trailer as the stereotypical colour for horror is
red as it represents blood and murder and I have made sure I included the colour
red a lot in my magazine cover, to represent a darker side in my magazine.
6. I think the good points in my poster are, the use of colours
as I have made sure the colour red is included in
everything in my project at some point as I think this colour
symbolizes murder and blood and this is what my trailer is
about. I also think my image is effective because the
stereotypical image for anything to do with horror is
commonly extremely close up and showing fear or shock
on the characters face, and I think this has been portrayed
in my picture as you can tell when you look at my poster
it’s going to be something to do with the genre horror.
I think I could improve my poster by making the main
image darker because it is fairly bright and that doesn’t fit
the theme of horror, I also think I could improve my
camera awareness by making my main character look
more like she’s been kept hidden instead of her looking
clean and make up looks goods because in real life this
wouldn’t be the case.
7. The good points about my magazine I think include
the fact that I used red throughout and tied my
magazine in with my teaser trailer and the poster. I
also made sure that my model was wearing a red
dress and red lipstick so that she looks more
desirable and I want the audience hooked on her
just like the killer is in the trailer. I also like the fact
that I kept the three main colours throughout my
magazine cover and these are, red, white and
black as I think these colours work well together.
I think I could have improved my magazine by
having my main image more connected to the
trailer, as this image doesn’t show fear or being
followed so I think the audience may be confused
looking at this magazine cover and trying to
connect it to my teaser trailer.
