So the army and police are suppose to stand back and let a whole crowd of men with weapons rally
against them? They state in the film that the weapons are to protect themselves from people who had
come previously and attacked them. I know Egypt isn't America, but I believe people should have a right
to gather and protest things they do not agree with. Even if I happen to disagree with them. Everyone on
the anti-Morsi side seemed certain that Obama is a secret muslim supporting the brotherhood, which is
the same bullshit spouted by the teabaggers in the states. If enough people believe something the truth
really doesn't even matter.
the military showed footage showing the Brotherhood attacking THEM first Right, totally reliable seeing
as both sides say the exact thing. I mean in the first part of the video its obvious that they are attacking
the military by throwing their sticks at them so its totally justifiable to start shooting people. Really
though I'm conflicted about the situation, but it doesn't even seem possible that the Morsi led governance
could've enacted sharia law in the next three years before the election. Other than that the main
complaint about Morsi seems to be that the economy is egypt is fucked. How exactly could any
government fix a countries economy in one year? It was like right after Obama got elected and everyone
was like why isn't the country fixed yet? Except in this case the military overthrew Obama and decided to
start over. Either way I can't help, but empathize with both sides because they are trying to protect what
is important to them and life for them has been shit recently. What happens next? Another election? I'm
sure people won't be disenfranchised at all.
All the military wants to do is protect the Egyptian people, and the majority of Egyptian people want
Morsi and the MB out of Egyptian control. That seems debatable as much of Morsi's supporters live in the
Egyptian countryside more or less in poverty. I guess their opinion is void seeing as they don't have any
money. The whole thing is depressing and it is even more so because of people who think there is an
ultimate good guy in conflicts like this.
