This document summarizes Kepler's and Newton's laws of motion and gravitation. It states that objects maintain constant velocity unless acted upon by an outside force, that force is equal to mass times acceleration, and that no force occurs alone but rather in balanced pairs. It also outlines that planets orbit in ellipses, objects move faster closer to the gravitational center, and includes the equation relating period and semi-major axis for planetary orbits. The document concludes that these discoveries were crucial to understanding motion in space.
2. Objects maintain a constant velocity unless
acted upon by an outside force.
Force=Mass times acceleration, force is
proportional to mass or acceleration.
No force occurs in isolation, it occurs in
balanced pairs.
3. All planets orbit in an ellipse.
The closer an object gets to the gravitational
center, the faster the object goes.
P2 = a3 .p= earth years. a= astronomical units
An astronomical unit is the distance from the
earth to the sun which is an average 93,000,000
miles
4. We concluded that these are amazing
discoveries about space. If we didn’t have these
laws/discoveries then we, as in the world,
would be confused so much about space
without these laws.
