Richard Calmes traveled from New York City to rural North Georgia to photograph beautiful dancers in natural settings. He took a group of dancers to locations around Hiawassee, Georgia, photographing them in rivers, lakes, and a historic village over three days. Calmes was an architect and endurance athlete who appreciated dance as another form of "flight." He aimed to capture "bursts of beauty" through photographs to preserve perfection. Special thanks were given to the photographer, Richard Calmes, for allowing the photos to be published.
