Importantthingstoknow Friendship is a relationship between two or more persons. Friendship is one of the most common relationships that most people have in life.   Friendship is given at different stages of life and different degrees of importance and significance. The friendship is born when people find common concerns.  There are friendships that are born within minutes of relationships and others that take years to do so. True friendship lasts a lifetime.
Importantthingstoknow Aristotle mentions three types of friendship: for interest, pleasure and good, but only that it deserves the name comes from the friendship. ForCicero and Seneca, friendshipimpliesharmony, goodwill and affection, "want and rejectthesame."  Cicero says: Only danger is known to true friend.
Components The main component in friendship is trust. Theyalsoemphasizeempathy and loyalty. In all friendship is:  • Trust and honesty: It facilitates talk and act like real people think and is, minimizing the social prejudices usually have. "A friend is a person you can think aloud." Ralph W. Emerson  • Understanding and empathy: Acceptance of the characteristics of friends, their values, ideas, fears, successes, mistakes, and ultimately their way of being. "A friend is one who knows everything about you and yet you want." Elbert Hubbard
Components The main component in friendship is trust. Theyalsoemphasizeempathy and loyalty. In all friendship is: • Fidelity: "A faithful friend is a powerful shield and it is, finds a treasure." Ben Sirach • Respect: "I do not need friends when I change when I change and settle down. My shadow makes it much better." Attributed to Plutarch

Don Quixote and SanchoPanza, Sherlock Holmes and Watson, the Three Musketeers are varied examples of different types of friendships can also display in the literature.
