                             1. Think about your audience
                             2. Don’t be too self-promotional
                                (70% informing, 20% engaging,
                                10% inviting)
                             3. Write with energy. Be conversational
                                and brief
                             4. Don’t post too frequently. Space it out
                                (use a schedule)
                             5. Involve staff, but have a strategy
                             6. Try something new, change or stop
                                what isn’t working

            1. Assess where you are
               Ask staff, and ask patrons. Set up a white board and
               ask for feedback on specific items
            2. Assess success
               What does success look like? Work backwards from
               goals, not just forward from where you are
            3. Distill the message
               Too many messages dilutes all of them. Find what
               messages work. Eliminate what doesn’t
            4. Kairos (Yes that’s Greek)
               Right audience, right words, right time
            5. Gather recommendations
               Don’t antagonize current customers. Listen to them
