1. Indian Society of Agribusiness Professionals – Brief Profile
Indian Society of Agribusiness Professionals (ISAP) is the largest network of agriculture and allied
sector professionals in India and developing countries.
A non-government, non-profit organization incorporated in 2001, under Section 25 of the Indian
Companies Act, ISAP is a growing network encompassing over 15,000 registered associate members,
comprising 5000 Agri-Experts, 752 partner NGOs, over 868 Individual users and more than 1100
researchers in 200 different cities of India.
V I S I ON
Instill economic security and stability among farming community particularly small & marginal
farmers through holistic development of agriculture and rural sector.
MISSION
Improve the livelihood pattern of small & marginal farmers by enhancing their access to
appropriate and affordable technologies, market related information and linkages.
Sustainability of extension services and expert advice through capacity building exercises
effectively bridging the rural-urban divide.
Associate all professionals’ involved in different aspects of agriculture and rural development
through national and international networks.

ISAP has national presence spread across 14 Indian States
of India. These include Assam, Nagaland, Haryana,
Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir,

ISAP undertakes extensive networking with different stakeholders, like development institutes,
extension officers, agri-input and service providers, donor agencies, government departments and
prominent state level NGOs.
Key features of our agri-extension services are IEC activities, Farmers’ Awareness Campaigns,
Trainings, Field Demonstrations, Interaction Meets, Exposure Visits, Farmers Trainings and one to
one meetings with the farmers to generate awareness and build the capacity of the farmers with the

Development (DFW&AD) and State Institute of Agriculture
Extension and Training (SIAET) has setup the Kisan call center
under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna (RKVY) in Bhopal, Madhya
Pradesh.

KCC is approachable by a toll free number 1800-233-4433 to facilitate calls. Within a year, ISAP has
resolved over 2 Lakh farmers queries from 50 districts of Madhya Pradesh.

ISAP is one of the seven non-governmental organizations, which were allowed first in the country by
Min of Information and Broadcasting to set up community radio station. It has set up the radio
station at Sironj block of Vidisha district in Madhya Pradesh.
The Radio Station broadcasts every day for four hours, through programmes that involve
community.
Q U E R Y R E D R E S S S E R V I C E (QRS )
ISAP operates a query redress services (QRS) funded by One World South Asia (OWSA). The queries
are received via through telephone in offline mode and responded within 24 hours.
USING ICT FOR BRIDGING INFORMATION GAP
ISAP works with Qualcomm in developing a mobile phone based application for delivery of real time
agriculture information to farmers.

ATMA PROJECT IN PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP (PPP)
ISAP worked with the Directorate of Farmer Welfare and
Agriculture Development, Government of M.P for implementing
the ATMA project in 6 districts under the Public Private
Partnership Model.

3. Key Project activities include- Setting up of Farm Schools, Crop Demonstrations, Kisan Gosthis,
farmers trainings and exposure visits etc for development of agriculture in the project districts.
SUSTAINABLE YIELD INITIATIVE – PROJECT SHARE
Under this initiative ISAP works with 10,000 Cotton and Maize farmer households in 4 districts i.e.
Adilabad, Amravati, Bundi and Bhilwara.
To augment the small & marginal farmers’ household income on a sustainable basis through
increased yield in cotton and corn

S K I L L TRAINING AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT
ISAP imparts training primarily focusing on skill up-gradation, entrepreneurship development and
domain knowledge on commodity futures and trading.
CERTIFIED CROP ADVISOR PROGRAMME
ISAP has signed a Strategic Partnership with the American Society of Agronomy to offer Certified
Crop Advisor Programme across India.

4. ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (EDP)
EDP is being provided to unemployed agriculture and allied sector graduates in 8 states (including
North Eastern States) under the aegis of MANAGE. The 60 day module involves,
Class room and Practical Training followed by Mentoring
support for,
• DPR’s approved by the Bank
• Receiving subsidy from NABARD
• Obtain the license for input trade.
• Industry Interface
• Procurement of technology/ software /
machinery
Key Outcomes: ISAP has trained over 1600 youths across 9
states of which 460 enterprises are successfully running
SKILL UP-GRADATION AND CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMS
Skill up-gradation and capacity building trainings programmes and farmers awareness camps have
been undertaken by ISAP to enhance livelihood opportunity among Farmers’, NGOs, women SHGs
and rural youths. These training programmes are in the realm of market linkages for farm produces,
crop care, storage and warehousing of agri-commodities, rural services – retail, micro-insurance,
trading of agro-commodities, food processing.
SKILL UP GRADATION TRAINING PROGRAM FOR BPL YOUTH UNDER SGSY (MORD)
ISAP has recently started skill up gradation training program for
BPL youths under special project of SGSY in Madhya Pradesh,
Maharashtra & Orissa.
Total of 5,000 below poverty line (BPL) youth in the age group of
18 - 35 in the above-mentioned states (from villages) will be
trained in skills according to the market requirements. The basic
objective of the training program would be to equip rural youths
with employment and marketable skills to enhance their capacity
to secure employment in the organized sector.
MARKET LINKAGE PROGRAM
ISAP fosters market linkages between producer groups, industry buyers and sellers for various
agriculture, horticulture crops and their allied products.
