2. The Client is one among the world’s largest power companies headquartered
in the US and has a growing portfolio of generation, transmission, and
distribution businesses with the capacity to serve 100 million people
worldwide.
The Client
The Client will be deploying over 120 MW of battery-based Energy Storage
Systems over then next 12 months. These projects will be mostly distributed
across the US and a few globally. In order to monitor, analyze and manage,
forecast and report the performance of units, the Client will implement an
Operations Support System (OSS) to attain High level business objectives,
Success criteria and Manage multiple projects, in different physical
locations. Customized reporting is needed to suit varying project needs.
Sigma Infosolutions proposed a Web based Reporting Solution using Pentaho,
a leading open source business intelligence platform.

Challenges
Given the vast size of the database and large number of transactions, at
times the database goes down leading to abrupt termination of various data
loading and fetching processes. This happens due to various factors and also
due to heavy usages of the database for verification the processes on a daily
basis. This pushed Sigma Infosolutions’ team to find a quick technology fix to
keep up the time line and budget for this project.

Sigma Infosolutions’ team worked closely with the client’s team to design an
Enterprise Business Intelligence Reporting Solution which enables real-time
information to make data-driven decisions.
