Hinweis der Redaktion

  1. In recent years, focus has shifted from traditional sources towards private investment, mainly driven by the National Highways Development Programme (NHDP).
  2. Companies like IRB, GMR, Reliance Infra are developers.Companies like L&T, Gammon, HCC, Nagarjuna are contractors.
  3. State sector projects are primarily taken up by the respective road development corporation or state public works department.
  4. States mentioned in table in order of road length..as compared to national average figure of road densities, the circled states are above the average while others lie below average..however, there are states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Punjab which are proactive and have undertaken large number of projects – PPP, multi-lateral funded projects ,etc.
  5. The committee was constituted in April 2010. The technology is currently being used in USA, Mexico, Chile, Argentina and Dubai. It costs about Rs 100 per tag and about Rs 2 Lac per Reader as compared to other technologies which cost Rs. 1000 to Rs 2000 for On Board Unit (OBU) and Rs. 2 to 5 lakhs for the reader.
  6. Financing- This is reflected in the fact that road sector funding accounts for only 3-4 per cent of the total public sector allocation.
