Jesus The Premiere Leader
1. Jesus the Premier Example of a Leader
Jesus leadership has truly stood the test of time. Thousands even millions of people being positively influenced by his teachings.
His teachings are not only prevalent to this time, but influences on our culture to be a leader. Jesus encouraged leaders like Gandhi
and Martin Luther King Jr. to make a revolutionary noble cause, so that we may stand up for what's right and influence others to do
the same. Locally, he's an influence innumerable pastors, students, and parents that are influence and led by following him. Just
check out the skyline of steeples to see that Jesus isn't far to be pointed in where he influences. Will you be the ones to follow like
others have in Jesus, and be a leader to change yourself and others for good?
Jesus exhibited mainly eleven great attributes which I'll briefly explain of a leader: Humility, Stability,Morality, Integrity,
Diplomacy, Vision, Sociability, Perceptive Effective, Common Sense, Decisiveness, Love, and concluding the Impact of Jesus.
Humility is not thinking less of themselves, but thinking themselves less. This is where people do things not to be applauded, or
in a servile, selfish, but selflessly. quot;So he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist.
After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples' feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around
him.quot; (John 13:4-5) The humility of Jesus Christ was shown in His performing the most humble and menial and repulsive services
for others.
Stability in mood, views, and actions, is a key factor whether we can trust them or not. Who doesn't' want to depend on standing
on solid ground, an anchor, from a speed driven world? When we're constantly pressed on time and worrying, we need in our inner
selves to have grounds of contentment and peace. This stability is found in Jesus where his mood, views, and actions wasn't
dependent on what he wore, what people thought of him, but where his expectations met his talents. Jesus expectations called us to
realign us according to his prerogatives, so that we may have an inner calm through a storm. (Mark 4:35-40)
Morality is the difference of Hitler and Mother Theresa, even though they both led, why would you object, and why? Hitler's
actions was excused by Darwin's book. What was Mother Theresa excuse for her actions? The point is this, it's a natural law boiled
down to our sense in the inner being, thus this image inside us points to what we refer a 'moral law'. The law is prevalent but all the
moral laws of history Jesus summarized accurately in two commands. (Mt 22:36) This very moral law was in nature of Jesus.
(Hebrews 4:15)
Integrity is who you are when no one is looking. Do you stop at stop signs when no one seems to be around? Do you pay all
your taxes? He welcomed the wicked tax-collectors, prostitutes, poor, rich, the lame, the blind, and all people who come to meet
him. (Matthew 9:9-12). Jesus showed integrity because he wasn't two-faced, he was true faced.
Diplomacy is where you pick your words carefully. Most importantly, never giving unnecessary offense through injudicious or
unwise comments. Jesus was sensitive in conveying how to reveal people's character. He questioned their motives, so that they
evaluate their lifestyle. Jesus showed this by questioning a wealthy ruler, where he finally found out where his treasure is where his
heart was heart (Luke 18:18-23).
Vision in where people know where you are going to a sense that the future is greater than the present. Where there is no vision
there is no hope, for it is a key for people to feel secure excited and motivated for the future. Vision is based on faith for which
things are hoped for though are unseen. Jesus' vision is to seek first the kingdom of God, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
quot;Taken for impostors and yet we are genuine…said to be dying and yet we are here alive, scourged but not executed; in pain yet
always full of joy; poor and making many people rich; having nothing and yet owning everything.” (2 Corinthians 6:8-10) This
vision by Paul was inspired by Jesus, not by how the world seen him but Jesus saw him. What vision do you have - the world's or
Jesus'?
Sociability is when you are accepted and followed, leaders need to have good social skills. Leaders may like or even love their
people, and they reciprocate. Some leaders who are reclusive may lack a way to identify with their fellow people. Jesus knew how
to love and serve his people. He loved them in two different scales: The macro-ministry of where he fed the five thousand, and
where he gave the Sermon on the Mount. And the micro-ministry where he nurtured and focused on different people such as his
disciples, and Saul/Paul of Tarsus, to further spread his example in life.
Perceptive effective leaders think of others and are not content to see injustice, suffering or abuse. In fact, these leaders would
address it firsthand. They would not only be saddened when conflict arises between their people, but they would be the
peacemakers. (Colossians 1:19-22) Jesus' had reconciled or pursued a prostitute from her death. (John 8:3-11) Jesus' ultimate
purpose was to reconcile us in God.. For people to entrust their creed in their leaders, good leaders are mandated to have a social
conscience.
Common Sense effective leaders are infused with a natural common sense. A sense where quot;social/street smartsquot; are effective to
know how to behave, what to say and when to say it, on timely manners. He used a logical manner where his miracles weren't of
the Devil's, paraphrased Jesus explainsquot;A judge who gives opposite verdicts on the same person cancels himself out; a family
that's in a constant squabble disintegrates; if Satan banishes Satan, is there any Satan left?quot; (Matthew 12:25-27) A commonsensical
leader has discernment on how to deal with order, chaos and controversies.
Decisive good leaders are able to take decisions and make good decisions. They will not waver or procrastinate. When people
look to them for a decision, they will listen to others and weigh them in council, and come to a decision. Decision often need time,
but there is nothing is more frustrating in a leader than an inability to come to a conclusion. The Pharisees conferred among
themselves seeking a way to destroy Him. They asked Him for a sign which would prove His relationship with God, and replied
with a paraphrased summing it up quot;Sign of Jonah, or Resurrection!quot; They asked why His disciples did not keep the authoritative
traditional teaching. Jesus replied quot;It's what comes out of your heart, not what comes into your mouth that makes you impure.quot;
(Mark 7.14-23) He was antagonized many times, yet he confronted squarely and accurately with truthful insight.
quot;No man has greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for his friend. (John 15:13) Jesus not only lay down his life for
his life for his friend, but for humanity, so that they may have life abundantly. (John 10:10) Love is a bridge for loneliness, a
channel for a spirited life, the greatest endeavor, it is doing the best when they least deserve it. Jesus exercised this in the highest
degree, for his greatest message in life is love in a revolutionary way.
2. Jesus exhibited a powerful milestone in history, nobody changes the world more than Jesus has. Twenty centuries have come
and gone, and today Jesus is the central figure of the human race, and the leader of mankind's progress. This Jesus of Nazareth,
without money or arms, conquered more millions than Alexander, Caesar, Mohammad, and Napoleon; without science and
learning. He shed more light on things human and divine than all philosophers and scholars combined; without the eloquence of
schools. He spoke such words of life as were never spoken before or since, and produced effects which lie beyond the reach of
orator or poet; without writing a single line. He set more pens in motion, and furnished themes for more sermons, orations,
discussions, learned vocabulary, works of art, and songs of praise than the whole army of great men of ancient and modern times.
