This document discusses a preliminary study on a family-focused tele-intervention program for children with developmental coordination disorder (DCD) in New Zealand. The study involved developing materials and resources to support families in implementing home-based interventions via weekly telephone calls from a "teacher". Preliminary results showed improvements in movement skills based on assessments. The authors propose a larger feasibility study and national evaluation to further test the effectiveness of the tele-intervention approach for improving outcomes for children with DCD.
