So you have a stay at home mom job, and your children, and nothing is working out as you had thought it would? You thought you could do both, be at home with the kids while working without childcare. Now you’re realizing this is unrealistic. I know you’re feeling overwhelmed.
2. So you have a stay at home mom job, and your children, and nothing is
working out as you had thought it would?
• You thought you could do both, be at home with the kids while
working without childcare.
• Now you’re realizing this is unrealistic.
• I know you’re feeling overwhelmed.
• I know you are feeling somewhat of a failure because you
thought for sure you could do both.
• So what’s a mom to do?
• Be realistic, your partner doesn’t take the kids to work, and you
don’t have to either.
• I thought I would share with you some of the things that worked
for me.
3. • The quickest solution is to put your child into a daycare setting or
nursery school very part time.
• All of our boys went to afternoon nursery school two times a week
when they gave up napping.
• This allowed me to continue to work while the young ones were
napping, and provided a great social experience for the older child.
• If your budget doesn’t allow for the cost of nursery school or
childcare, what about trading with another Mom?
• I did that in the summers when nursery school was not
operating.
• Two afternoons a week she had the kids, and two afternoons
I had all the kids.
4. • Do you have family members who could help?
• Maybe a grandparent who doesn’t want to be a full time
babysitter, but would love a few hours a week with their
grandchild?
• If not every week, maybe twice a month? Most importantly, ask for
help!
• Ask your partner to do bath time and bedtime so you can get some
work done and have time together as a couple once the kids are in
bed.
• I’m a believer that people will help you if they can, if you tell them
what you need. Look around and see what others with stay at
home mom jobs are doing.
• Maybe what they are doing will work for you.
