And cut our Attachment and Grasping

- 6. Many want to acquire and acquire
May we be free from unwholesome desire

- 7. May our thoughts be free from all ill-will and anger
May our loving-kindness spread to every corner

- 8. There’s so much cruelty, hatred and aggression
May love and peace prevail in every nation

- 9. May all our Speech be honest and truthful
May we realize that lying is harmful

- 10. Harsh speech can cause others much hurt and pain
May we not speak harshly ever again

- 13. May we not take the life of another being
May our Compassion grow for every living thing

- 14. May we refrain from the act of stealing
May our Generosity keep on growing

- 15. May we refrain from sexual misconduct
May contentment develop in our heart

- 16. Life is a valuable and sacred thing
May our livelihood not involve killing

- 17. Honesty in our work is important indeed
In our livelihood may we not deceive or cheat

Greed, Hate
and Delusion
arise in the mind
These poisons bring
about mental states
of the suffering kind

- 20. May we cast out defilements that are in the mind
May we diligently watch the mind all the time

- 21. May we arouse wholesome mental states to arise
This is a constant practice of the good and wise

- 22. May wholesome mental states grow to full development
May we reach the ultimate goal of Enlightenment

- 23. May we be mindful of the body,
feelings, mind and dhamma
May our mindful practice lead us to
the Bliss of Nibbana

- 25. May we be mindful of whatever feelings that may arise
May we NOT react or attach to feelings, painful or nice

- 26. May we watch the thoughts and states of the mind
This we really need to train all the time

- 27. May our mind be concentrated in Samadhi
May our mind cut attachment to sensuality

- 28. May our mind have greater and greater concentration
May we dwell in equanimity and attention

- 29. We need to develop Right Concentration
May we cultivate deep states of absorption

May we walk The Noble Eightfold Path
With great diligence and a wise heart.
