Entering the New Year
With the Old Year behind and the New Year upon us, it behooves us to look ahead with
hope, anticipation and excitement. Life is hard sometimes. It deals us blows that seem
unfair. Sickness, disease and death can make us feel futility and depression. In our
country we experience these things so much less than many other countries in the world.
So many of our babies entering the world in a weakened condition who would die in
those countries are able to live in ours! Many countries people are starving to death on a
daily basis in the hundreds and thousands. Our poverty is nowhere comparable to theirs.
They are being slaughtered by warlords in Dark Ages style of conquest and control.
Still we hear people bemoaning how bad last year was. They lost a job, got a demotion,
savings decreased with the stock market. Certainly all these things are a little disturbing,
but life in America provides opportunity. Opportunities to rebound when things go
wrong! Chances to pick yourself up when you falter and fall down! Challenges to look
failure in the eye and defeat it. Many countries in the word do not afford such prospects.
Assessing ones actions in the Old Year and laying out a plan of action in the New Year
can be a productive process. It beats drifting through the years, wandering wherever the
tides of time take you. It is being aware of things that need to be done, and doing them.
Certainly our plans will not necessarily unfold exactly how we have laid them out. At
times we may not even come close to what we planned. We may drift into a very good
situation we did not plan. Perhaps our planning brought us to that opportunity we did not
see.
Other times our plan will succeed. Our steps laid out will take us where we wanted to be.
Or at least thought we wanted to be. Then we adjust our strategy for something else.
Staying open minded and flexible makes us more able to survive and thrive in an ever
changing world.
With all the drifting, planning, ups and downs we will grow. We will gain experience,
knowledge, ideas and visions that will help us grow. These experiences will strengthen
us, preparing us for the pitfalls of life. Allowing us to take advantage of seemingly
negative situations!
These are the opportunities available to us in a free and prosperous nation. “The Pursuit
of Happiness” is available. Happiness is not insured. It cannot be! For happiness is
within us all, but cannot be expected to be given by others: people, organizations or
governments. Often it is the pursuit, the journey to a destination that brings happiness.
Purpose, chasing the dreams!

Leslie Stahl’s Interview with Eric Cantor, an Obama Campaign Piece
On January 1, 2012 Leslie Stahl began her piece pointing out President Obama was
putting Republican House majority Leader Eric Cantor’s face on Congressional gridlock
and unpopularity. Stahl supposed “60 Minutes” interview proceeded to become an arm
of the Obama Campaign by continuing Obama’s characterization of Cantor.
Stahl kept asking the question about compromising with Obama. Accepting policies that
increase revenues (taxes) not just reducing spending. She pounded this theme constantly
in her questioning.
Cantor missed major opportunities to point out why increasing taxes was not the answer.
First he should have made the point when Washington increases taxes, they increase
spending by the tax increase plus. Some Washington politicians have pointed out a
federal tax increase boosts spending by 10 to 60 percent of the tax increase. So, the
argument that is what we need to do to reduce the deficit is bogus.
He also needed to point out money saved from reducing spending is revenue. When
private companies are in tight financial times, taxing the people was never an option! Till
the recent government bailouts were bestowed! Most private companies reduce capital
outlays. They reduce spending. They practice achieving greater effectiveness and
efficiency. This is never the answer government chooses. Big government advocates
increasing the size of government by employing ineffectiveness and inefficiency.
When a ship is sinking, you cannot compromise on how much of the hole in the hull you
are going to fix. You have to patch the entire hole or you allow the ship to sink, only a
slight bit slower. This is why compromise with Obama is not possible. His goal is to
expand government, not to save it.
Ineffectiveness and inefficiency are tools socialists use to expand government. Increased
taxation contributes to that goal along with increased spending. But then Stahl and 60
Minutes would edit out such a message even if Cantor delivered it. Their interest is to
put Obama in for another four years.
With liberal media a campaign arm of the Obama organization, the President has

campaigning they have done during his entire presidency.

Roosevelt’s Four Freedoms
Freedom of Speech
Freedom to Worship God in his own way
Freedom from Want
Freedom from Fear
In his address to Congress on January 6, 1941 Franklin D. Roosevelt revealed his four
essential human freedoms. Two were covered in the American Constitution. They were
freedom of speech and freedom of worship, both addressed in the First Amendment. Our
founding fathers covered those essentials. Roosevelt’s next two freedoms seemed both
unrealistic and unwise.
Freedom from want is impossible to bestow. The human condition is the more we get the
more we want. In Roosevelt’s mind perhaps it was freedom from want of food, clothing
and shelter. But as we saw in the financial collapse of 2007, shelter wasn’t enough.
People who couldn’t afford it used the system to buy very expensive houses that were far
beyond their means. Shelter, not that they needed, but that they wanted.
We saw a similar result in Louisiana after hurricane Katrina. Cash was handed out to
alleviate the distress many people were under without food, clothing or shelter. It was
found many used that money for unnecessary items, including bling. Coveting jewelry to
adorn themselves before putting a roof over their heads.
To promise freedom from want is to feed the worst demons in man. Men and women
will want everything they can get for free. If government is offering those things, many
will be lined up to get their share and more. After all, if they don’t partake it will go to
someone else. Even our local governments and school districts succumb to greed. They
take the money they don’t need because it will only go to someone else.
The state of Oregon has received millions in cash awards for giving out ever increasing
free food. The goal is not feeding the hungry, but giving as much away a possible. It is
not an issue of need, but want. Many want all they can get for nothing. Government is
obsessed with giving these things away to make the majority dependent and subservient
to them, solidifying their rule over the people.
Thomas Jefferson in his 1787 letter to Edward Carrington stated, “Among [European
Governments], under pretense of governing, they have divided their nations into two
Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII)
4
classes, wolves and sheep.” Roosevelt’s freedoms of want and fear certainly move us
toward that split of the population. Weakening the people by giving them what they
think they want.
Freedom from Want; a Bottomless Pit!
FDR’s Freedom from Want, Nurturing the Child to be Spoiled and the State of Fear!
However, in the process of giving more freedoms, he is taking away their will, their
backbone, so they will forever live in fear. This idea freedom from want is nurturing the
greed, gluttony and weakness in the people instead of the strength and independence that
built our nation and a free people.
While Roosevelt wanted to free the people of fear, his fourth freedom, in actuality was
instituting a form of government that would hold the iron fist of dependence over the
people’s heads. He was grooming a people to weakness, making for them an
environment of dependence where they would always live in fear. Wondering if they
would get what they expected and could they carry on if they did not. It destroys the
confidence and self-esteem of the individual, making free and independent people into
dependent sheep.
Offering a government of total power, he was building an engine of fear that ran in Nazi
Germany and Stalinist Russia. He wanted to give the people things in exchange for their
freedoms. Payoffs to accept serfdom to the government! Not freedom, but slavery to the
government!

The Old Rope-A-Dope
Mohammed Ali defeated highly favored George Foreman in Zaire, Africa in the “Rumble
in the Jungle” October 30, 1974 with a tactic called “Rope-a-Dope”. Foreman was huge,
Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII)
5
built like a brick outhouse, arms flailing, continually throwing punches, looking like a
windmill. Ali’s career and skills seemed to be waning.
Forman would throw a blizzard of punches for six to seven rounds, barely giving an
opponent a chance to breath. They weren’t mere jabs either. They started from the deck
shooting to the rafters of these boxing cathedrals. They would have broken the necks of
normal men.
The wile Ali covered and fell into the ropes, looking like road kill for the massive bombs
Foreman was throwing. Foreman eagerly advanced for the kill, sure he was going to get
it. As was everyone watching around the world! By the seventh round Foreman was
tiring. In the eighth Ali landed a few bombs of his own. Foreman just beat the bell but
had nothing left. The fight ended and Ali returned as champion.
Political Campaigns are beginning years before the elections. Barack Obama has been
campaigning for his second term instead of being a president. It seems like a long march
to nowhere, with nothing being accomplished but a lot of rhetoric.
Long campaigns just create higher campaign expenses. To have all these republican
debates burns money and energy, of both the people and the candidates. The opposing
party in power loves the multitude of opportunities for their adversaries to make a gaff or
blunder. The media can harp on it for the next year, building an arsenal of explosive
sound bites to undermine the candidates of which they disapprove.
It just seems as though the “Rope-a-Dope” tactic is being used on the republicans. They
punch themselves out on each other. Expending energy, capital and often credibility,
tarnished with the help of a biased media. This Rope-a-Dope would not work without a
corrupt media!
It is a waste of resources and energy which gives the media and who they support more
power. After all it helps the media fill time for their 24 hour news channels. Money for
ads also fills their coffers. It gives the mainstream media great power and control over
elections. It is the media giving Obama the power of “Rope-a-Dope”.

Celebrity, American’s Gross National Product
America used to be a manufacturing giant. Producing steel and the heavy equipment it
was molded into. Cars, trucks, trains and planes came pouring from our factories.
Things, solid and real, the engines of progress for our nation, society and the world!
Dynamic, innovative and productive, a country producing real things, real life and real
people!
Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII)
6
Our national product now seems to be celebrity. Kids in school, instead of wanting to be
doctors, engineers, scientists or some other profession, that has an honest impact on
society, just want to be famous. Fame is the end result they seek. Not fame through
accomplishment, but fame by being known.
Our productivity creates Real Housewives, shallow and narcissistic women, engaged in
gossip and backstabbing. It creates Kardashians, shallow and narcissistic women,
engaged in gossip and backstabbing. People watch mob and basketball wives, shallow
and narcissistic women, engaged in gossip and backstabbing. Is this reality what many in
America desire to be? Yes, it seems so!
America’s Gross National Product
Trash TV!
Movies, television and the computer can bring about that fame, creating celebrity for a
person. Being seen doing something creative, performances of art can do the trick.
Being seen doing something ignorant, destructive and asinine can also create fame and
celebrity. Or just being seen in the right place at the right time!
However, these endeavors do not create a substantive foundation for the economy of our
nation. The media/movie industry is a nice frill. It exhibits some of the culture of our
nation. But, it is merely illusion. It does generate business and profit but not the kind
that can sustain a nation. It has no real substance on which to build a nation, though it
can record the building. Or it can distort the building.
It is much like the story telling of the Native Americans. Stories that tell of the greatness
and accomplishments of those tribes! The stories and story tellers are only after the fact
mouths and voices of the greatness.
This is what the movie and the book provides to a society. Without the steel backbone of
any society, the culture cannot evolve. It needs the power and strength to be generated
from concrete activities of real people, making, manufacturing, production to allow the
time and atmosphere for the arts.
Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII)
7
Our celebrity is no longer generated by only talent in the arts and sports. It is generated
by things society and families used to avoid. Airing ones dirty laundry can make a
person famous. Having explicit sexual escapades released to society can make a person
famous. Acting like an incurable ass can bring fame to people.
This seems to be the desire of many in our country from young to old. There are no
standards of behavior and the standards of success have changed. People behave like
animals, acted or real, one has to question. Most heinous is this conflagration of idiots
and clowns have been handed the power to make commentary on our nation. They
influence, exemplify and model. To many they are role models to aspire to be like!
We the people hand them this power, bowing before celebrities who we should be
ashamed and ignore. How sad is that! It weakens us, our nation, its character and its
ability to survive!

Governmental Character
Recently there was a news report on the low turn over rate and low discharge rate for the
federal government. Government officials and government union officials attribute it to
the high caliber and skill level of the government worker. That is really difficult to agree
with this assessment.
For example, the FBI worker pleasuring himself at his desk while watching porn on his
computer. He received a two week suspension according to an official involved in
disciplinary actions. Other FBI workers only watching porn at the work sites received
one week suspensions as reported.
These are examples of the high quality workers in government who most assuredly would
have been fired for such actions in the private sector. Perhaps the examples of President
Bill Clinton and Representative Anthony Weiner have been taken up as character models
in the Federal Government. (See previous article – America Has Spawned a New Race of
Gods, the Gods of Elite Entitlement)
Treasury Secretary Timothy Giethner, tax cheat accepted, holds that high caliber and skill
level. Perhaps character has nothing to do with employment anymore. At least it has
nothing to do with employment in government. Or, perhaps lying, cheating, stealing and
sexual misconduct are the skills government is looking for.
Remember, what we are seeing is merely the tip of the iceberg.

The Politics of Fear; One Hundred and One Ways to Bring Armageddon to Earth
The quantity of television programming is overwhelming. In hundreds of channels it
seems 90% is reality TV. Housewives from hell, sports and news talk are incessantly
discussing the minutia of what is going on in their expert area of gossip. Mind numbing
repeats of events from a thousand talking head’s points of view!
Additionally disturbing are programs and channels that years ago had somewhat
substantive programming have turned to tripe. Bravo, birthing nasty women constantly
announcing how wonderful they are but behaving like witches. Woman that men seeing
them would only marry for their money, making a pact with the devil! Men that are just
plain idiots!
Most frightening is the History Channels, The National Geographics Channels and The
Syfy Channel, three that used to provide some thought provoking and entertaining
material. Now they seem to have allied in bringing the message of doom to the world. A
frightful and dismal picture is presented.
The History Channel brings constant programming of prophesy. Programs containing
those many predictors of dooms day! Sometimes interesting, but often slanted seemingly
toward instilling the specter of destruction instead of knowledge. They point to asteroids,
solar flares, or blasts of solar energy shot from the sun.
National Geographics Channel presents programs on what would happen if CO2
dominates the atmosphere or, if the planet overheats or the earth stops spinning or an
asteroid hits the earth or the magnetic field disappears. They present more “what ifs”
than Barack Obama in his Obamanomics.
Syfy has marathons of stories about the destruction of the earth. From the end of the
Mayan Calendar, to an avenging dragon popping out of a mountain top and all the other
stuff too! A hundred and one ways for the earth to end or the population to be wiped out
for the next stage of life on earth! One way or another Doomsday is going to get you.
People are much more familiar with the word Armageddon than they are with the word
integrity. The extinction of integrity is more likely to end the earth than all these
fantastic cataclysms. These are all possibilities. Minute possibilities! But over millions
of years odds are some will happen. Most are events we likely will be able to do nothing
about.
Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII)
9
Meteoric Destruction Like When the Dinosaurs Disappeared
Awaiting Armageddon!
One can’t help but think from behaviors witnessed from politicians, mass media and
Hollywood types, there is a motivation for such programming. That motivation has to do
with the philosophy Rom Emanuel expressed for Barack Obama of “Never waste a good
crisis”.
We have seen these politicians constantly creating crisis to advance acceptance for their
ideas. Frightening people so they are allowed to spend more of the people’s money to
put profit and power in their pocket’s and those of their cronies. The 2007 financial
meltdown, healthcare, financial regulation reform, the Gulf oil spill, the debt ceiling,
Fannie and Freddie and many more!
Putting the American people in a weakened state of fear where they place their
dependence on the government has great advantage for those who would love to move us
to socialism and ever expanding government. Bombardment with ideas of the possible
destruction of our planet and way of life certainly could serve a major purpose in this
evolution from democracy to socialism. Using entertaining propaganda to brainwash
people with dismal ideas of destruction, preparing them for the certain failures under
socialism! Socialism is about power, authoritarianism! Doomsday for democracy!

Doctor Phil Advising on Truth Telling, Or The Art of Lying
Doctor Phil was advising one of his victims caught up in her husband’s criminality on
truth telling. He outlined how to state her case of innocence in her husband’s criminal
activity. As a trial consultant, he reminded he advised people on such things for many
years. His advice was, “State your innocence on a few specific issues strongly and
repeatedly.”
Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII)
10
Then he turned to a lawyer in his audience and asked him how he felt about what he,
Doctor Phil had just said. The lawyer most heartily agreed with the good doctor’s
assessment.
His advice has the strong smell of marketing methodology. Pick a few points and focus
on them. For products advertised that would be the positive points, avoiding any
reference to the negative areas. Then comes the pounding, continuing the drumbeat of
the message of innocence home over and over again!
Sadly this may be the only way someone can get their reputation back when they are
wrongfully accused for a crime they did not commit. It may be the only way to regain
lost credibility, when that trust is wrongly lost. Unhappily innocence is not cherished in
our marketing society like the techniques to sway public opinion.
This provides a great trap for society. It provides directions to the same path a good liar
could use to perpetuate his lies. We have seen it time and again. Lying adamantly, with
conviction and a strong voice, good liars usually come across more convincingly than the
innocent telling the truth.
The Faulty Truth Meter
“Good Liars” are practiced in the Dr. Phil prescription for being seen as truthful!
The innocent are often timid in their denials. Often when innocent, they are naïve,
nervous they are in such a situation. Those telling the truth often believe the truth will
prevail, leaving themselves at the mercy of the liars who have mastered Dr. Phil’s
methodology.
Jon Corzine (Governor, Senator and Head of the bankrupt MF Global) was lauded
innocent by many lawyers listening to his testimony before Congress because he declared
his innocence with such conviction. Just like Doctor Phil and his lawyer in the audience
outlined should be done. Corzine followed the prescribed steps.
Like President Bill Clinton when he said, “I did not have sexual relations with that
woman!” Facing the nation on television he got a stern look on his face and pointed
accusingly at the American people as though we were the unjust. Dr. Phil has revealed
the blue print, the formula, for the professional, habitual and pathological liar!
Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII)
11
So many politicians have made such Clinton and Corzine like denials when actually
guilty of the crime or misconduct. John Edwards and Anthony Weiner are two such
excellent examples! It is reflex for the politicians to deny even when guilty, in hopes of
the people believing because they are so adamant and persistent in denying guilt. It is
just another common tool in their tool box of political tricks.
In fact, Dr. Phil’s method of declaring innocence is the system invented, practiced and
perfected by “the Liar”. Used relentlessly by politicians and bureaucrats. A tool
especially suggested by lawyers for their guilty clients in the courtroom. That is why it is
so difficult to distinguish the innocent from the guilty. We have many people, politicians
and professions so practiced at lying till they have perfected the art. They have lying
down pat!

Eric Holder Declaring Racism; Applying the Hot Iron of the Racist Brand
February 19, 2009 Attorney General Eric Holder accused America of being a nation of
cowards, afraid to talk about race. Part of the reason for Americans being afraid of the
discussion is liberals going around branding people as racist in order to destroy them.
The race discussion is often a trap to bull dog and tie up an opponent, like a steer in the
rodeo ring rendering them helpless, readying them for branding as “racist”.
Al Gore Branding Global Warming Skeptics as Racist
Former vice president Al Gore declared “Global Warming skeptics are this generations
racists!” He is branding those disagreeing with “Global Warming” as racists. Even after
all the misinformation Gore himself has injected into the discussion, through his movie,
“An Inconvenient Truth”. Gore charges to doubt his misrepresentations is racist? First
he chided them as flat world believers and any other smear he could come up with. Now
he is escalating his rhetoric labeling them racist.
Gore is doing the bullying he accuses the global warming skeptics of doing. He says we,
his global warming believers have to win the conversation of what he calls accepted
science. His whole “Global Warming” strategy has been an arm twisting, truth bending
and bullying, campaign! Why don’t he and his scientists debate those disagreeing?
Gore claims science as a whole is being questioned unfairly when “Global Warming
Pushers” browbeat other scientists that disagreed. He talks about integrity, something he
is not known for practicing and we should believe him and take him at his word?
Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII)
12
The University at East Anglia in Great Britain caught admitting lying, manipulating and
destroying information to strengthen their “Global Warming” arguments should cause us
no doubts? If we have doubts because of their corrupt actions, according to Al Gore, we
are racist?
Sharpening the Racist Weapon, Associating the Tea Party and Socialism with Racism
Political comedian Janeane Garofalo has branded Tea Party members as purely racist.
This declaration was supported by Keith Olbermann on his show. Many others have
branded the Tea Party as racist, joining a choir singing the praises of hatred.
The media has declared socialist and socialism as the new “N” word. Strategically tying
socialism, a government takeover of power, to racism! Like a magician liberals are
labeling any action and anyone disagreeing with their agendas as racism or racist.
CBC Pointing the Fickle Finger of Racism
Congressional Black Caucus member on this years “Bashing the Tea Party Summer
Tour” Rep. Andre Carson, D-Ind., likened the Tea Party to the Jim Crow era saying
"Some of these folks in Congress right now would love to see us as second-class
citizens." Carson added, "Some of them in Congress right now of this Tea Party
movement would love to see you and me, I'm sorry, hanging on a tree."
The Rev. Jesse Jackson took this “Tea Party Bashing Summer Tour” opportunity to brand
the Tea Party racist with cutesy references to Fort Sumter and Martin Luther King. “The
tea party opposing Obama,” Jackson said, “Should be called the Fort Sumter Tea Party
that sought to maintain states' rights and slavery.” Continuing he stretched, “The tea party
is a new name on an old game," He substituted today’s Tea Party for the segregationists
Dr. King confronted in Alabama misrepresenting, “Dr. King fought a 'tea party' in
Alabama...He had no weapons, but he confronted the tea party.”
Rep. Shiela Jackson Lee has long denounced the Tea Party as racist at an NAACP
meeting. She compared the Tea Party to the Ku Klux Clan and claimed elements of the
Tea Party have a fascination with race. She forgets lynching in the south was perpetrated
by democrats against blacks and republicans supporting the cause of blacks. The KKK
was a democrat organization dedicated to the purpose of keeping blacks down, real
racism!
Holder Aims the Racist Weapon
Eric holder is now employing the race card to beat back questioners of his incompetent if
not criminal actions in the “Fast and Furious” gun running affair he oversaw yet denied
knowledge in a letter to Congress. According to Kyle Rogers, Charleston Conservative
Examiner, in his January 16, 2012 article, Eric Holder Tells NAACP that Whites Want
to Take Away Their Voting Rights, “Eric Holder recently blamed white people for his
problems. He said his critics are racists who don’t like him because he is black.”
Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII)
13
Holder according to Rogers, “Claimed that South Carolina’s new voter registration law is
an attack on minorities.” This is another claim of racism Holder is charging to intimidate
people, backing them off from the accusations of his misconduct. While Holder was
somewhat correct in accusing America of cowardice in failure to discuss the race issue
honestly and openly, he hypocritically has employed the method of intimidating people
with the brand racist to discourage looking into his possible misconduct.
Perhaps the Race Conversation Will Occur?
Charging racism is a method that worked for many years. It turned many Americans into
cowards on the subject. What they have been doing may turn the tide. The so-called
American cowards are now ready to discuss racism and at the same time confront Holder
with his alleged misconduct.
The question is do liberals have the courage to allow the discussion. Do they really want
it discussed, or would they prefer it remain a club they can use to beat opponents into
submission. A hot iron they can apply to an enemy to brand them “racist” forever.

Selfishness Creates a Sluggish Economy
The economy seems stuck in neutral. Like being caught in the road side gutter in deep
snow the car rocks back and forth, getting nowhere. Rocking forward and backward, the
vehicle falls back into the same hole created by the spinning tires. The stock market
similarly stuck just above twelve thousand. Likely that high because of the
manipulations of the Federal Reserve printing more money!
The Dow hovering at 12,500 might seem pretty good for the market. Remember that
twelve thousand five hundred is not the same as it was three or four years ago. With the
printing of more dollars, the value of each dollar is decreased. You see that in the
grocery store or at the gas pump where your dollar does not go nearly as far.
The value of each point in the price of a stock is therefore similarly decreased. A stock at
25 even if it remained there through all this financial crisis still has lost value. So,
perhaps you have stocks that have dropped in market points, also each point has dropped
in its value of each point. That stock is far below the values it was several years ago. So
the mark at a greatly devalued Twelve thousand five hundred!
Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII)
14
The Result of Obamanomics
The Obama economic policy shrinks the dollar, weakening it and America too!
We have seen individuals like George Soros and Warren Buffet are rich enough and have
the ability to manipulate the marked for agenda’s to which they are partial. We have seen
people of less means suckered into the market time and again. The small investor driving
the market up, raising stock prices! Then those rich speculators bail out to reap the
profits picking the bones of the average middleclass investors!
Yes, the uncertainty of Obamanomics has discouraged businesses large and small from
investing in their future and that of the nation. They are waiting to see if the
administration is going to continue to punish businesses or let them thrive. So far it looks
like they are preparing to pounce with new taxes on those businesses. This slows the
economy.
One area most economists are forgetting is the middleclass. This is the only time in
memory personal investment consultants have advised clients to keep a good amount of
cash at home. They have advised to put money in their mattress because of the economic
uncertainty our government has had a primary role in creating.
Mistrust of the integrity and competence of government has created this uncertainty. The
incompetent actions of this administration have added to the doubt. Mistrust of Wall
Street and the banks and banking system has made it worthwhile to keep money in the
mattress.
After all the banks are paying about 0.2 % for regular saving accounts and about 1.5% for
CDs. Bankers and banks have clearly shown the ability to lose money on accounts that
were supposed to be safe. What are the advantages of putting money in a bank during
these times? Is it really safer when there are robbers both within and outside the banks?
Which one is more likely to rob you?
The pockets of the middleclass Americans have been picked by the government in so
many ways. Politician’s addiction to more taxation rather than reducing spending, along
with foolish and thoughtless spending burdens the people! Bailouts of rich banks and
Quantitative Easing programs 1, 2 and 3 rob the people. Our energy policy which forces
gas prices higher sucks money from the people.
Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII)
15
This seems to be a view not discussed. How many billions of dollars are tucked in
mattresses that used to be invested? How many people are holding back because of the
displayed incompetence of government and the banks too big to fail?
The economy is sluggish because there is nothing out there for middleclass America to
trust. Neither the government, nor the financial institutions including the leaders of both!
None of those people leading them have shown worthiness of trust! Until competence
and honesty are seen and trust returned, there likely will be no major recovery.

Social Networking: Part 1 of 4. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Social Networking began as a frivolous pastime to cavort with friends and family. It
evolved into telling those friends and family about everything we are doing. In some
cases it became a brag fest of every action a person engaged in, modeled by social
network celebrities like the Kardashians.
Net Star
Caught in the Net!
Sadly, the Kardashians have become the poster girls of those made famous by social
media. Creating lucrative celebrity for themselves by wallowing in the muck and mire in
front of a young and impressionable population. The Kardashian girls have marketed
themselves through their partying, promoting their sex lives, even mugging for the
cameras while sitting on the toilet. Kris Jenner pimping her children has made them rich
and famous, or perhaps infamous.
While skills such as getting drunk, laid or sitting on the toilet do not seem the way to
success, they appear to have become a viable talent in today’s world of celebrity. Where
America’s main products used to be those innovations invented and manufactured,
through the sweat of the American worker, it now seems this empty celebrity is the
nation’s contribution to the world. It is the primary product America produces.
Many see this as a way to fame and fortune, the coveted “lifestyle of the rich and
famous”. Some have succeeded using this model. Many more are reaching for the brass
ring embracing the Kardashian behavior in Hollywood or other places in the vain and
Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII)

arrogant entertainment industry. While at times it catches fire and makes a millionaire,
more often it brands a person indelibly, forever affecting their lives; personal and work.
Those copying the Kardashian method have found perspective employers checking social
networks for information on perspective employees. Drunken partying and pulling
clothes up and down, exposing oneself is not a good reference for those seeking jobs in
the real world.
Social networking has many facets, good, bad and in between. It is a universe in which
to tread cautiously and with commonsense.

Social Networking; Part 2 of 4. Career Development and Professional Networking
In spite of the dangers social networking presents with regard to reputation and career, it
has become an integral part of the career development process. At this point in time,
social networking has become essential to the job search process. Not only are
employers looking for possible negatives of perspective employees on My Space, Face
Book and Twitter, but now there are sites for the professional to show their information
to impress an employer.
Sites like Linkedin, that recently went public, are places where people can display their
professional résumés, along with other important employment, experience and skill
information. It is set up so much information can be shared in a very professional
manner. The site can be updated and enhanced easily, crafting a useful tool and message
over time.
Net Connections
A net to be utilized!
There are also places where additional sites can be accessed from Linkedin. Additional
and important information can be linked to display talents and skills. For instanced if
writing on Examiner, those works can be linked to show perspective employers actual
work.
Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII)
17
If one has a body of work which can be displayed there are sites that can assist the effort.
Internet places like Carbonmade provide such locations. Photography, paintings,
drawings, sculptures, even written articles can be displayed in a very professional way.
The beauty of these sites is an individual can display themselves in each and every aspect
of their abilities. They can more easily show the entire three dimensional being! The
résumé showed merely one dimension, two at best. These tools allow the entire creativity
and ability of the individual to be exhibited in a very professional way, branding
themselves!
While it helps in showing us to others, it also serves as a personal inventory. The process
helps us to make a personal inspection. It is easier to summarize ones arsenal of abilities
and skills in ones own mind. It helps us to see, summarize and know ourselves. This
familiarity will aid greatly in the face to face networking and in the interview processes.
It can be a growth encounter with oneself.
MySpace, Facebook and Twitter, while they can have pitfalls they can also be used to
enhance the professional sites. It is marketing. Getting your name, your brand out there
is the name of the game. The more sites you are on, the more times your name may come
up when it is Googled or binged. In our marketing and self-promotional world this can
be a great advantage.

Social Networking; Part 3 of 4. A Place to Hide
While there are many positives to some aspects of social networking system, they too
have their own pitfalls. Like the fluffy social networking, even the professional sites can
go to ones head.
It can be like getting your high school yearbook signed at the end of your senior year.
You go around asking everyone you know, even vaguely, to sign your book, to tally up a
list of friends as you enter the rest of your life. You may actually be more susceptible to
this now since you have experienced days after school are perhaps lonelier socially than
those days in school.
As you tally friends and followers, it can make you feel quite good. You can quantify
friends with a number and that can be exhilarating. Your numbers keep growing and you
feel more popular. Your self-esteem rises as the numbers on your counters rise too.
Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII)
18
Reality must be checked. On many sites your friends or followers might be businesses
seeking access to dollars you might spend with them. They are using the sites to
advertise their business, their profession and you merely a means to that end.
Perhaps some are the other end of a relationship spectrum that is also enamored with the
increasing counter of their friends and followers. They too are obsessed with the need to
increase their self-esteem. They just want to add another number whether they know the
person or not. The fact is lost they are merely faceless numbers, not really friends. It
sounds silly, but it is easy to be seduced by these numbers being presented to you.
Aspiring Stars caught in the Net
Caught in the tangled, web like net!
While real self-esteem is developed and raised by accomplishment, as a society we have
been taught to be vulnerable to this false sense of self! We are prone to this seduction of
false compliments. We’ve been taught to hear what we want to hear, do what everyone
else is doing to be in and popular. It is quickly becoming a norm. This false self-esteem
that is disguised as the real thing can sabotage us.
We find our real selves when we are aware of the dangers and navigate them, using this
social media for our advancement, achievement and growth as a human being. Not a
place to avoid the real world.

Social Networking; Part 4 of 4. The Future
While this social networking is the rage now, it is difficult to say what the future holds.
We are merely at the beginning of the system for the professional. It appears to have
many advantages now. For the employer it offers a massive pool of talent. So large in
fact, computers are often doing the sorting, scanning, zeroing in on key words.
Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII)
19
Years ago employers wanted the details endorsed in the cover letter. They would have
thought it uncreative if you just listed the same words they used in their ads. Today it is
essential to use those same words so the computer will identify and sort them.
This has evolved to a phenomenon called white words, where words are typed in white
ink, on white paper, in the margins. White words refer to skills a person doesn’t have,
but will help their résumé through the computer sorting process. The white ink will not
be detected visually on the résumé, but will be detected positively by the computer
scanning and sorted for skills the person does not possess.
There have always lies added to résumés by some. Pushing the envelope to gain an
advantage! The lie has been successfully used by some to attain very high positions. So
really, the white lie of white words is not a surprise.
Then I wonder about too much information. Does this help the hiring process, or are
employers being clamped in irons, confused by an overdose of information, thrown into a
state of procrastination. Often they are hiring out the selection process because it has
become too cumbersome. Government, even school boards have used a method of over
piling on information to confuse the people.
The Net, Full of Folds, Knots, Wrinkles and Tangles
The net, places to bloom, grow and hide!
When everyone is doing this, there is a sea of data out there. How do you wade through
that sea when massive waves of information are rolling over you? How do you navigate
a sea of data of infinite breath and depth? In a sense this process can mask more than it
reveals.
Perhaps the system will devolve to a well written cover letter and resume once again,
telling an employer all they need to know about the person. As the pendulum swings and
technology advances at break neck speed, who knows what is next?

Refuting Sharpton’s Dirty Glass Theory: Part 1 of 2. What’s Clean, What’s Dirty?
After the South Carolina primary, Al Sharpton sat in a conclave of media liberals on
CNN. They gossiped like a high school clique, laughing a Gingrich’s success. They
besmirched in a bullying manner, using mockery to set the tone. They belittled the people
who voted for Gingrich.
They admitted the high unpopular ratings of both Obama and Gingrich. Then Sharpton
stated Obama would beat Gingrich just because the people wanted a clean glass. It
wouldn’t matter how unpopular Obama was in the polls, Gingrich was worse.
Al Sharpton’s long and tarnished history has proven himself unworthy to judge the clean
glass. He could see dirty glasses as clean because he has seldom if ever had contact with
a real clean glass. It’s like the mud hole calling the glass dirty! Besides, Sharpton never
found a glass too dirty to drink from if there was something in it for him.
Al Sharpton, the Mud Hole Calling the Glass Dirty!
Is Obama a cleaner glass than Gingrich?
Obama, spawned from the corrupt Chicago Illinois political machine is seen as the clean
glass? Content poured from the polluted Chicago gangster politics pitcher, the glass
would be contaminated no matter what. (See Dec. 29, 2011 article “Rod Balgojevich, the
Model of the Illinois/Chicago Politician”.)
Barack Obama is the Saul Alinsky disciple and professor of the Saul Alinky’s “Rule for
Radicals” philosophy. Alinsky’s book is Obama’s plan for his leadership methodology
and direction he has taken our country. (See Dec. 9, 2011 article “I Trust Barack
Obama”.)
While we may have to wear rubber gloves, going against many of our own principles to
pull the lever for Newt Gingrich, it would have to be an awfully despicable person
Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII)

running to pull the lever for Barack Obama. (See the up and coming series of articles on
the Obama Experience.)
We are not going to get a white knight, a savior. That just doesn’t happen very often. A
savior was voted for in the last election. How did that turn out? We have an arrogant
narcissist taking us to hell in a hand basket. Incompetence and corruption are his
hallmarks along with the marketing tong of the horse trader selling a horse with a broken
leg or a president selling a failed economic policy.

Refuting Sharpton’s Dirty Glass Theory; Part 2. One Dirty Glass to Another
If Gingrich is the republican candidate many will ask, why should we vote for him? He
is as arrogant and narcissistic as is Obama. Anyone would be hard pressed to argue that
point. Certainly one should not mortgage their credibility to do so. He is an insufferable
pompous ass. However, Obama fits that category also.
Sharpton Identifies the Dirty Glass?
Dirty glass to dirty glass!
Here’s the difference! Gingrich possesses real intelligence. His intelligence flows from
study, experience and application. Not merely intelligence assigned for attending
Harvard, by the snobbishly superior Harvard political elite. He has intelligence gained
through experience and accomplishment.
Gingrich possesses the ability to develop an idea, plan a strategy, put the pieces and
people together, managing it to a positive conclusion. He has done this numerous times
through his career. He has vision and the ability to make the vision reality. This skill is
rare in the private sector. Practically unknown in government among politicians and
bureaucrats.
Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII)
22
Obama has no such skills but those of the Alinsky deception and destruction. He
continuously hands the ball off to others because he couldn’t and never was able to carry
it. His experience in the Illinois state legislature of voting a noncommittal present over
150 times revealed his lack of substance. He is “Not Present” in his leadership. He has
shown himself to be “The Not Present President”!
Like Gingrich, the Alinsky Obama is not virtuous. He is not the clean glass as professed
by Al Sharpton. More likely he is the plastic cup that is not clean either. So is Gingrich
really a step down or perhaps a big step up?
As in the movie “The Untouchables” Sean Connery stated, “They bring a knife we’ll
bring a gun!” Perhaps it is not time to bring the virtuous to the battle. They cannot stand
up against the plague of Chicago corruption that has descended upon Washington. Not
that Washington was clean before they got there, but they polluted it to a much greater
extent. They nurtured the Pelosi/Reid infestation.
Perhaps it is time “To fight fire with fire”. To march out someone capable of getting
down in the dirt with Obama and his Chicago gangster troops like Rom Emanuel and his
stealth army formerly know as ACORN, nurturer of pimps and child prostitutes.
Someone who will not allow Obama to get away with his glib, meaningless comments
and slogans and Alinsky lies! Perhaps this is the best thing for a dirty political street
fighter to take on the corrupt Chicago politician that is Obama.
Maybe it will take such a person to defeat similar people, dirty glass to dirty glass. This
then could pave the way for the virtuous candidate. Working toward a cleaner
Washington and a cleaner government! Perhaps a cleaner future for America!
Still, we cannot depend on that with untrustworthy politicians. The people must be
vigilant, present and active to wash the dirty glasses from politics and keep them clean.

Who Killed Joe Paterno?
At the very least, Joe Paterno did in the child molestation case of Jerry Sanduski what
few others would have done because they don’t want to get involved. He took it to a
higher authority at Penn State University and expected the leaders of this bastion of
higher education to deal with the matter in a responsible and ethical manner.
However, people had higher expectations of Paterno. He had a history of being the white
knight in situations and performing above and beyond expectation. Paterno was punished
for his oversight of just being a more than normal human being and his Polly Anna
attitude the University would do the right thing.
Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII)
23
Paterno working at the university had unrealistic expectations of the character of Penn
State leadership and likely our large universities in general. We think of them as pulpits
of truth and honor, where students go to learn ethics, morals and other such altruistic
philosophies. The power the education industry and such universities now wield, they
have often sacrificed integrity to advance their own power through political agendas.
We forget education is a business, as are these universities. Marketing themselves is a
major part of the business. Marketing their positive attributes and often hiding their
negative ones. They often ignore things that would produce bad publicity. It is well
know colleges and universities have often ignored or manipulated their rape histories, a
dangerous negligence on their part. What we thought were fortresses of knowledge and
truth are really bunkers to protect the power agendas of warped and distorted knowledge,
propaganda.
Because Paterno was a good man, the expectations he would always do the exceptional
thing were high. When he didn’t, he failed in the eyes of many. He was also a good
story to fill the 24 hour news and sports on television. He was good fodder for the holier
than thou talking head sports and news media gristmill to grind down for their pleasure.
They seemed to take pleasure in the crucifying of Joe Paterno.
Many who knew him said his being made into the scapegoat is what killed him. His
players, his associates and even his peers of opposing coaches have said he died of a
broken heart. Joe Paterno was murdered by a higher education system that has often
sacrificed human beings to sexual predators to keep their reputations clean.
Paterno paid for the sins of the university leadership. His own sin was expecting better
from them. He isn’t the first to be sacrificed and he won’t be the last.

The Obama Experience Part 1 – The 2008 Campaign
In the 2008 presidential election Barack Obama’s experience was compared to that of
Sarah Palin. It was a comparison of Obama’s short stay as an Illinois State Senator
where he voted a noncommittal present on issues over 150 times. It included his short
service as a US Senator of barely a year before he began campaigning for president.
Most important was his service as a community organizer, which seemed to remain pretty
much undefined.
Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII)
24
Palin’s experience as a mayor and governor in Alaska and some concrete
accomplishments were dismissed. The real things she accomplished were ignored. Her
statement, she could see Russia from her back porch took center stage. It was turned into
a joke, turning to ridicule, digging away at her credibility. The liberal mainstream media
did a hatchet job on Palin in service to Obama.
Her use of this country colloquialism, to say something close you could see from your
back porch was blown-up way out of proportion, thus defining Palin with a false
perception. Depicting her as a country yokel, as compared to Obama’s elite Harvard
Education and world view was a major part of the Obama campaign donated and carried
on by the mainstream media.
When Obama said there were 57 states, a real gaff, it was glossed over and ignored.
When he revealed to Joe the Plumber his intentions of redistribution of wealth, the
mainstream media ignored Obama’s words and attacked the plumber. Liberal media
began designating “Socialism” as the new “N” word to cover for Obama. Mainstream
media was selective in whose so-called gaffs they displayed and whose they hid.
Obama was marketed as a man of great intelligence. Being a Harvard Graduate was the
primary reason for his pedestal as an intellectual. His books added fuel to the façade.
Little in terms of accomplishment ever made the media to reveal any concrete actions or
accomplishments. Obama was then and is now merely a marketed product, an image of
words, not actions.
Obama’s connections to radical extremists like the Reverend Jeramiah Wright, Father
Pfleger and William Ayres were ignored. Many Obama gaffs and negative connections
were hidden by the media. The majority liberal media became an arm of his political
campaign machine, building Obama up and tearing Palin down.
Lost in the conversation was Palin would be a heartbeat away from the presidency and
Obama would be president. This was a fact few pointed out. It became Obama against
Palin and the dominant liberal media molded it that way. While Palin may not have been
ready for the presidency, she was clearly far more qualified than Obama.
Democrat mouth piece Donna Brazile defined the “community organizer” in the usual
nebulous but powerful terms saying, “Pontius Pilot was a governor, Jesus Christ was a
community organizer!” This statement put the halo of the savior Jesus Christ upon the
brow of Barack Obama. According to Brazile’s statement, Jesus Christ was the definition
of the “community organizer”.
This is how an extremely inexperienced Obama rose to the presidency of the United
States of America.

Rep. Tom Reed, On the Spot, but a Little off the Mark
(Pardon the interruption on “The Obama Experience” 8 Part series!)
Tom Reed Holding Peers Accountable
Calling out peers for wasteful spending attitudes!
On Friday February 3, 2012 I heard our 29th
District Congressman on Frankly Speaking,
our local southern tier political talk show with Frank Acomb. Rep. Reed talked about a
member of the House lamenting how they used to just spend. They didn’t have to worry
about permission or a budget he whined. They just spent for what they thought they
needed. More likely what they wanted.
Mr. Reed called the Congressman out and said, “These are different times and we cannot
do that anymore.” Mr. Reed deserves much credit for that action. Whether it was just the
moment and the words did not come out just right, I can understand. But I must say this,
just in case Mr. Reed does not understand. He missed a teaching moment.
That Congressman reminiscing romantically about the old days when they spent like
drunken sailors should have be told, “That was wrong! Using the America People’s
money with such distain, disregard and incompetence was wrong. As wrong then as it is
now and it is that attitude and action that has our nation on the brink of bankruptcy. You
should be ashamed of yourself, your Congress and your government for behaving in such
a manner!”
The entire incident reveals how clueless most of our representatives are. Even when I
hear the seemingly good ones talk, I hear words that make me afraid. They say we
shouldn’t tax and spend more till the economy comes back. I envision once this problem
is seen as fixed, they will go back to the drunken sailor spending, if they can ever get
away from it, just continuing to pile up the debt.

The Obama experience; Part 2 of 8. Community organizer, falsely defined
The person who originally defined the community organizer Saul Alinsky had his
definitions selected by the main stream media to define it. These definitions were
provided by Saul Alinky in “Rules for Radicals”. However, the media chose only certain
content for those definitions, and avoided others, also distancing from the name Saul
Alinsky.
Few really knew what the community organizer was except those who followed the word
of Alinsky. Most people in the country would never read his book. Especially those of
the independent or conservative mode! Truly, Rules for Radicals, though tedious and
convoluted, torture to read, should be required reading in our schools.
Community organizer sounds good. It sounds like someone invested in the community to
improve the situations for people in the community. It gives the impression of altruism
and caring. Such seems part of the Alinsky methodology, putting titles on things that
make them seem acceptable. Donna Brazile put great weight on the position when she
said, “Pontius Pilot was a governor and Jesus Christ was a community organizer.”
She elevated the position of community organizer, even though few knew what the
position really entailed. At the same time she degraded the experience of governor,
comparing Palin to one of the most reviled governors in biblical history and history in
general. Pontius Pilot, the governor who washed his hands in the crucifixion of Jesus
Christ. At a time when politician’s credibility was sinking to new lows, Palin was
ingeniously compared with one of histories lowest governors.
The term community organizer was polished and shined. The media gave it a clean and
beautiful face, taking advantage of the public’s ignorance on the subject. They treated
the term community organizer, just as they did the new face of Barack Obama on the
scene.
Cool, was a word used by Alinsky to describe the organizer. It was adopted readily by
the mainstream media to advance the Obama image. This too was not given a clear
definition, but from its use in our society was perceived as a positive by a vast majority of
those hearing it.
Obama was “cool”, and going to lead us to “hope and change” in a “bold and decisive”
way! He appeared “cool” and said “cool” things. Placing him among the pillars of the
Greek Gods in a Denver rally, presented Obama as a supreme being. Obama was a
perfect commercial to sell a bogus product, socialism, “cold and calculating”, “not cool”
in his approach.
Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII)
27
By keeping his history a mystery, they were able to build false faces for both Obama and
the community organizer. Separating Obama from his past and giving him a brand new
clean slate, they were able to build a persona that was highly desirable during a time of
perceived financial crisis and public fear.
Obama was able to get to the mainstream media revealing little of who he really was.
He could spout generalities like “hope and change” and “bold and decisive” without ever
clarifying what they meant or what those policies would be. People frighten by the
financial crisis and the accompanying liberal scare tactics of the “Never waste a good
crisis”, a strategy to advance the socialist agenda were opened to his hollow message.

February 10, 2012
The Obama experience; part 3 of 8: What is the community organizer?
What is the community organizer really? To read Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radials” is
to understand who Barack Obama is.
Alinsky defined “community organizer” writing, “He does not have a fixed truth – truth
to him is relative and changing.” Obama’s constant changes in position, saying what he
needs to say, contradicting himself in front of different audiences, to him is an acceptable
part of his strategy. Not having a fixed truth sounds like the license to lie.
Alinsky dogma states, “The organizer is in a true sense reaching for the highest level for
which a man can reach—to create, to be a “great creator,” to play God.” This is a
philosophy and image Donna Brazile perpetuated when declaring, “Pontius Pilot was a
governor, Jesus Christ was a community organizer.”
Obama’s strategy; Alinsky’s “Rules For Radicals” declars, “Ego must be so all-
pervading that the personality of the organizer is contagious, that it converts the people
from despair to defiance creating mass ego.” Obama’s self-comparisons, to Lincoln,
Washington, Roosevelt, Reagan, even God, acts of epidemic egotism get approval from
the dominant liberal media! Obama is a staunch believer in his superiority, comparing
with all the greatest of history, as indoctrinated by Alinsky!
Values “organizers” are above include fidelity (loyalty); truth, at the organizer’s mood;
accountability, promises like truth are fleeting, whimsical. Alinsky maintains “Ethical
standards must be elastic to stretch with the times,” and “In the politics of human life,
consistency is not virtue.” He discounts honesty, loyalty and consistency and endorses
flip flopping, back stabbing and lying.
Obama’s Alinsky ego bends “truth” to his needs, promises of loyalty are utilitarian, non-
binding. This makes his oath of office as President meaningless for his word is
Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII)
28
meaningless. As an Alinsky organizer, Obama is the supreme judge. In his mind
conman jive lies are truth. This is Alinsky’s definition of “COOL”! The mainstream
media robotically uses Alinsky’s glossary to glorify Obama’s depravity!
Number 22
February 12, 2012
The Obama experience: part 4 of 8. Who is Saul Alinsky, of whom Obama is a
disciple and professor?
Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” says, “An organizer knows that life is a sea of shifting
desires, changing elements, of relativity and uncertainty, and yet he must stay within the
experience of the people he is working with and act in terms of specific resolutions and
answers, of definitiveness and certainty. To do otherwise would stifle the organization
and action, for what the organizer accepts as uncertainty would be seen by them [the
community, the people] as a terrifying chaos.”
Alinsky’s is a plan for tearing down what exists, with no plan for building after
introducing the chaos of destruction. His plan is for arresting power, not using it wisely.
It is a selfish and destructive manipulation, of the community and the people, for his own
ends.
Alinsky says, “The man of action views the issues of means and ends in pragmatic and
strategic terms. He thinks only of his resources and the possibilities of various choices
and actions.”
Alinsky defines of means and ends as, “The end is what you want, the means is how you
get it.” You and yours, he and his, it is about selfish exploitation of the people to gain
power for the individual or group.
“To say that corrupt means corrupts the ends is to believe in the immaculate conception
of ends and principles. The real arena is corrupt and bloody. Life is a corrupting process
from the time a child learns to play his mother off against his father in the politics of
when to go to bed; he who fears corruption fears life,” in his view.
Alinsky sees corruption as the normal method of operation. He thinks one fights
corruption out of fear, and those against corruption sniveling cowardly wimps. To reject
corruption is not fear of it, while embracing corruption often is, so which one fears life?
Alinsky goes on, “The practical revolutionary will understand Goethe’s “conscience is
the virtue of observers and not the agents of action”; in action, one does not always enjoy
the luxury of a decision that is consistent with one’s individual conscience and the good
of all mankind.”
Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII)
29
Alinsky has a dim view of mankind. Opposed to Thomas Jefferson’s view mankind’s
destiny and salvation is in honesty and truth. Alinsky sees mankind embracing corruption
as he has done so himself. He presents a dismal view of the future ensconced in a haze of
corruption. Virtue is a joke and political life is ruthlessness. This is Obama’s philosophy
and sadly many in our government, both parties, perhaps a majority practice it to varying
degrees!
One can see Alinsky recognizes the hell is creating. He has no reservations about putting
us all in hell, because it is not about the people, but those who will rule the people no
matter where they are. It clarifies Alinsky’s dedication of “Rules for Radicals”:
Alinsky dedicated, “Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgement to the
very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history (and who is to know
where mythology leaves off and history begins-or which is which), the first radical
known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at
least won his own kingdom. – Lucifer”
Number 23

The Obama experience; part 5 of 8. Alinsky Vs the founding fathers
It appears, like Lucifer, Alinsky would rather reign in hell than serve in Heaven and he
would be willing to damn us all to his hell to provide a kingdom for himself and his
followers! He epitomizes the saying, “Misery loves company.” He certainly appears to
have a dismal mentality.
Alinsky’s cynical and pessimistic views of people and virtues present a dark view of life
where things can only improve by destruction. This seems to be the strategy of all the
mega villains in our movies these days. Destroy what exists and hope something better
grows back.
Our founding fathers devised a system in which virtue and integrity are aspired to. We
can employ the system to work toward continual improvement of our society. If the
people stay involved and keep pushing the politicians toward honesty and integrity we
can reach a better place.
There never can be perfection, a Utopia like liberals preach! We humans are not saints!
That perfection they seek is not possible, because there are too many human foibles with
which to contend. Giving government total control will only exacerbate and magnify
those shortcomings.
If we employ corruption as the norm, we pursue corruption as the intent. We sow the
seeds of corruption and corruption will be the fruit which we harvest. Corruption will not
Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII)
30
likely mutate into blooming a good and wholesome society in such a decayed
environment.
If we employ honesty, integrity and morality pursuing our intents, we are much more
likely to achieve it. Certainly there are always those opportunists that will bastardize
those processes for their own purposes and turn good into the corrupt. If we as a people,
like our founding fathers, make good our purpose, we will sow more seeds of good and
harvest more of the fruits of good.
If we acquiesce to accepting Alinsky’s inevitable nature of corruption, our entire society
will become corrupt at various levels. The virtuous will be smothered in the waste
products of the corrupt system and virtue will be banished from our society. Honesty and
integrity will become extinct traits.
If we aim toward honesty, integrity and morality, certainly from the history of human
behavior we will fall short. But the history also shows we improve, reaching a little
higher as the virtuous and virtues taught and supported are allowed to take root.
In Alinky’s vision of society, that would not be allowed to happen and the multitude
forms of corruption will inbreed, creating a society of decay.

The Obama experience; Part 6 of 8. One of many faces
President Barack Hussein Obama is a man of many faces. Faces to fit various occasions,
moods and needs! When it comes to his treatment of America and Americans, one of his
faces is similar to that of the patronizing, cheating and/or mentally abusive spouse.
He blames Americans for being wasteful and selfish, taking from the rest of the world to
satisfy ourselves. While he speaks a modicum of truth, he forgets all this country has
given and done for the rest of the world. He is attacking the self-esteem of Americans,
stealing our confidence, preparing us for the dismal futures his dictatorial socialism is
bringing. Obama appears invested in America failing.
He lies causing us to question ourselves. “Did he really say that yesterday,” we question
ourselves? Saul Alinsky’s ever changing truth exemplifies Obama’s integrity. He tells
different audiences completely different truths, and blames others for misrepresenting
him. He arrogantly jokes and laughs it off and ignores it when caught in a lie. He
employs Dr. Phil’s method of being assertive and continuous in pounding home what he
wants to present as truth. ( See Jan, 16, 2012 article “Dr. Phil Advising on Telling the
Truth, or The Art of Lying”.)
Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII)
31
He usurps the people’s story as his own, as Alinky suggests. This is the cruel deception
of the mentally abusive spouse. He claims the pain he inflicts on his victims is being
inflicted upon him. He becomes the victim he creates in others, to continue to do
selfishly what he wants.
He talks about us behind our backs to others to make himself more respectable. He
aggrandizes himself by going around the world bad mouthing America to other leaders
and countries. This is the abusive spouse slandering his partner to justify his pathetic
conduct, making him more acceptable; the good guy.
Obama’s distorted belief, his vision through his Alinky goggles, gives him a license to lie
and practice lack of loyalty, breaking promises and all manners of corruption. This is the
Alinsky legacy Obama carries on as a disciple and professor of the Alinsky philosophy.
This is the political dogma Obama has as his main experience and primary focus.
Alinsky says, “There is a way to keep the action going and prevent it from being a drag,
but this means constantly cutting new issues as the action continues, so that by the time
the enthusiasm and the emotions for one issue have started to de-escalate, a new issue has
come into the scene with a consequent revival.”
This explains the Obama/Emanuel philosophy of “Never waste a good crisis” and why
they are such drama queens creating one crisis after another. It keeps attention away
from their underhanded pettiness and throws the people into a constant state of tension
and fear. The states of tension and fear make it easier to create a new crisis and exploit it
and the people! This is how Obama hides his real face, that of the socialist!
President Barrack Obama is a possessor of many faces and pusher of many false truths, a
man of variable values and certainly questionable integrity!

The Obama experience; Part 7 of 8. Obama’s presidential experience
Obama’s inexperience, provided as a community organizer, has captained the nation into
dangerous waters. Like the captain of the Titanic he runs the nations spending “Full
Ahead” with warnings of dangerous consequences all around.
Obama cites continually what would have happened if he hadn’t taken the actions he did.
It is easy to say things would be worse if I hadn’t done what I did. Likely the mentally
abusive spouses would voice in defense.
It is hard to believe things would be worse when our debt has been increased by four
trillion dollars and looks to grow even more rapidly under the Obama plans. Especially
Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII)
32
since we know this is the FDR plan which did not work during the “Great Depression”
and likely caused it to be greater. As pointed out by FDR’s own secretary of the treasury
Henry Morganthau Jr.!
Now the media is touting Obama’s experience as president as why he should be re-
elected. He has revealed himself as being a great campaigner, but lacking any semblance
of being a competent leader. Perhaps this is the problem.
The American Electoral System has evolved to being a place the used car salesman has
great power with rhetoric and promises, leaving the visionary and productive leaders
sitting home. As a people we are so enamored and controlled by the good speaker
promising us everything. We like to hear the seductive words whispered into our ear.
Obama’s limited successes are a comment on his experience. While he has been lucky
for the opportunity to experience much, and has been given grand positions to attain that
experience, he has not been able to turn that experience into anything productive or
concrete. Obama is a TV commercial, a talking head for his product, himself and
socialism!
In fact he has turned his wonderful experience into something destructive. Such was the
purpose of his Alinsky education, becoming a disciple and professor of the Alinky
philosophy in “Rule for Radicals”. He has been taught to “tear down” not to “build up”.
A rock has had great experiences through the millennia, there for the forming of the
earth. Present as history was made time after time. At hand while time marched by and
human beings evolved and societies became more civilized. Empires grew and fell like
the cities they created. The rock has born witness even as part of foundations of
civilizations to enhance a great experience.
Obama has had a similar opportunity scaled down to a shorter life span. Yet Obama, like
the rock has taken away little or little positive to utilize his experience. Has his
experience had any positive affect on his abilities to accomplish or contribute? One
would not judge yes from his accomplishments for the people he pledged to serve.
If merely holding a position or passing a bill is considered accomplishment, we could
give him a nod. If we expect positive productivity in the position or from the bills,
Obama is no more than the inanimate rock with events going on around it, but taking
nothing from them.
Experience is not only being there, it is doing something. Something positive that will
strengthen us as a free people and a free nation. One could easily say he is not quite a
rock, because he has had negative and destructive affects on our nation and people,
bankrupting the country and inviting socialism to enter.
Obama’s presidential experience is as hollow as his experience leading up to his election
to the presidency. He is a man of speeches and promises unfulfilled, and he sees nothing

wrong with it. He can lie to himself as easily as he can to the people, talking of
nonexistent accomplishments and it is okay, because he possesses the Alinsky “license to
lie”.
Obama’s experience and intellect has not helped him to reach beyond the dogma in which
he has been indoctrinated, the propaganda programmed into his brain. He is mired in the
destructive doctrine of Saul Alinsky and his “Rules for Radicals”.
A good rule to follow in all aspects of life is, “Actions speak louder than words!”

The Obama experience; Part 8 of 8. Initiating class warfare
The implementation of “Class Warfare” by Obama and his left wing cohorts is obviously
from the Saul Alinsky play book, “Rules for Radicals”. It establishes the line of
demarcation between Alinsky’s “Haves” and “Have Nots”. It establishes the “Haves” as
one percent (1%) of the population and the “Have Nots” as the 99%. He enlists almost
the entire population to reduce the “Haves” to “Have Nots”.
Lighting the match to instigate this infighting is productive to the Alinsky method of
toppling our democratic and capitalist system. It makes way for elitists, not the
competent or capable of climbing to the top in a free system, using government to gain
power over the people and the competent. What such leaders fear the most is competence
and the people being knowledgeable and independent.
This class warfare also distracts the people with this infighting from the corrupt actions
the socialists are engaged in. While we are fighting each other, they are carrying out
plans that take us farther into the web of serfdom they are building. Fighting each other
we pave an easy road to the ends they seek.
As we reduce the one percent from “Haves” to “Have Nots”, who becomes the next
group seen as “Haves” to be reduced to “Have Nots”? Then the next top one percent
becomes the “Haves” and is attacked by the population till they are reduced to a “Have
Not”. It goes on and on and on till everyone is a product of what has been done under
socialist regimes. The vast majority of the population is driven into poverty and the new
one percent (1%) is government and their cronies controlling all aspects of our lives.
We will have exchanged the old one percent that gave us opportunities through free
enterprise for a new one percent, an authoritarian government that has destroyed the
opportunities of capitulation for permanent poverty and serfdom. Manipulated by
jealousy we may be watching as one at a time the top one percent is attacked, defeated
and demoted to “Have Nots” while the leaders to socialism collected their booty making

them the top one percent. We the 99% will have carried out their revolution to take over
the government, giving the people’s government to oppressors.
This is reminiscent of Martin Niemöller’s warning, "First they came…"!
From Wikapedia:
"First they came…" is a famous statement attributed to pastor Martin Niemöller (1892–
1984) about the inactivity of German intellectuals following the Nazi rise to power and
the purging of their chosen targets, group after group. The text of the quotation is usually
presented roughly as follows:
First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn't speak out because I was Protestant.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.
Martin Niemöller (1892–1984)
This is not to say big business is clean, but much of their filth has been licensed by
corrupt government. To take the power of big business and give it to government is to
assure government run business will become totally and completely corrupt. Will anyone
in a government holding complete power become anything but corrupt to the core?
Alinsky and his followers are not concerned about corruption. They see it as the natural
state of things as described in “Rule for Radicals”. It is a tool they use “not coolly” but
“coldly”, without conscience. They do not care if they create Hell on earth. Not as long
as they are the leaders, the elite one percent in the hell they have devised. They, the
wolves will not be happy until the 99% are sheep they control.
It is up to the people to control governments and politicians to keep them more honest. It
is up to the people to use the mechanisms our founding fathers gave us in the Constitution
and their words and works to control the Alinky’s that are intent on making life Hell for
the masses, like Lucifer, so they can secure power somewhere, anywhere, everywhere!
THE END (I hope not)

Paying students to attend school, Part 1 Avoiding the problem
CBS Cleveland, the 923 FAN reported Feb. 13, 2012, a “Cincinnati High School Paying
Students to Come to School. The Dohn Community High School has launched a $40,000
incentive program to get students to come to class.”
“The schools CEO Ken Furrier told CBS Cleveland that students will get Visa gift cards
for showing up everyday for school, being on time for class and not getting into trouble.
Seniors would get $25 while underclassmen would get $10. They would also get $5.00
in a savings account for the student who earns a gift card.”
“I’m very excited to get the money,” 16-year-old student Arneqka Lester told the paper.
“It makes me want to get to school on time. But some students don’t have the money and
this will help them. It’s a good idea.”
One cannot help but wonder at the wisdom of this strategy. Is paying students to attend
school the new way to improve education? Some think paying children to attend school
will educate them. Even once conservative Ben Stein threw up his hands in support as a
last resort for a failing education system.
Have they thought about the possible ramifications of such an approach? They are way
off. It will only continue to educate students into behavior that a failing education system
has already nurtured. They are actually being paid to participate in one of society’s
privileges, education.
Even if this plan succeeds, are we nurturing a respect for education or merely revealing
greed and the focus on money our society has cultivated. Shouldn’t education be seen as
a treasure in itself, a way to improve ones quality of life and potential as they become
adults. Instilling a desire for education seems the appropriate path.

Paying students to attend school, Part 2. Its ramifications
The education industry has done much to generate a warm and fuzzy atmosphere to make
school a fun place to be. Sports, music and art have become more important than basic

  • 18. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 1 Number 1 January 2, 2012 Entering the New Year With the Old Year behind and the New Year upon us, it behooves us to look ahead with hope, anticipation and excitement. Life is hard sometimes. It deals us blows that seem unfair. Sickness, disease and death can make us feel futility and depression. In our country we experience these things so much less than many other countries in the world. So many of our babies entering the world in a weakened condition who would die in those countries are able to live in ours! Many countries people are starving to death on a daily basis in the hundreds and thousands. Our poverty is nowhere comparable to theirs. They are being slaughtered by warlords in Dark Ages style of conquest and control. Still we hear people bemoaning how bad last year was. They lost a job, got a demotion, savings decreased with the stock market. Certainly all these things are a little disturbing, but life in America provides opportunity. Opportunities to rebound when things go wrong! Chances to pick yourself up when you falter and fall down! Challenges to look failure in the eye and defeat it. Many countries in the word do not afford such prospects. Assessing ones actions in the Old Year and laying out a plan of action in the New Year can be a productive process. It beats drifting through the years, wandering wherever the tides of time take you. It is being aware of things that need to be done, and doing them. Certainly our plans will not necessarily unfold exactly how we have laid them out. At times we may not even come close to what we planned. We may drift into a very good situation we did not plan. Perhaps our planning brought us to that opportunity we did not see. Other times our plan will succeed. Our steps laid out will take us where we wanted to be. Or at least thought we wanted to be. Then we adjust our strategy for something else. Staying open minded and flexible makes us more able to survive and thrive in an ever changing world. With all the drifting, planning, ups and downs we will grow. We will gain experience, knowledge, ideas and visions that will help us grow. These experiences will strengthen us, preparing us for the pitfalls of life. Allowing us to take advantage of seemingly negative situations! These are the opportunities available to us in a free and prosperous nation. “The Pursuit of Happiness” is available. Happiness is not insured. It cannot be! For happiness is within us all, but cannot be expected to be given by others: people, organizations or governments. Often it is the pursuit, the journey to a destination that brings happiness. Purpose, chasing the dreams!
  • 19. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 2 Constant improvement of us and our lives, a purpose that makes life worth living, pursuit of a better us and a better world! Number 2 January 4, 2012 Leslie Stahl’s Interview with Eric Cantor, an Obama Campaign Piece On January 1, 2012 Leslie Stahl began her piece pointing out President Obama was putting Republican House majority Leader Eric Cantor’s face on Congressional gridlock and unpopularity. Stahl supposed “60 Minutes” interview proceeded to become an arm of the Obama Campaign by continuing Obama’s characterization of Cantor. Stahl kept asking the question about compromising with Obama. Accepting policies that increase revenues (taxes) not just reducing spending. She pounded this theme constantly in her questioning. Cantor missed major opportunities to point out why increasing taxes was not the answer. First he should have made the point when Washington increases taxes, they increase spending by the tax increase plus. Some Washington politicians have pointed out a federal tax increase boosts spending by 10 to 60 percent of the tax increase. So, the argument that is what we need to do to reduce the deficit is bogus. He also needed to point out money saved from reducing spending is revenue. When private companies are in tight financial times, taxing the people was never an option! Till the recent government bailouts were bestowed! Most private companies reduce capital outlays. They reduce spending. They practice achieving greater effectiveness and efficiency. This is never the answer government chooses. Big government advocates increasing the size of government by employing ineffectiveness and inefficiency. When a ship is sinking, you cannot compromise on how much of the hole in the hull you are going to fix. You have to patch the entire hole or you allow the ship to sink, only a slight bit slower. This is why compromise with Obama is not possible. His goal is to expand government, not to save it. Ineffectiveness and inefficiency are tools socialists use to expand government. Increased taxation contributes to that goal along with increased spending. But then Stahl and 60 Minutes would edit out such a message even if Cantor delivered it. Their interest is to put Obama in for another four years. With liberal media a campaign arm of the Obama organization, the President has unlimited funding for his 2012 campaign. No one will have anywhere near the campaign resources he has. Some reports say he has collected a billion dollars this time. The
  • 20. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 3 supposed free media will account for at least another billion, not counting the campaigning they have done during his entire presidency. Number 3 January 6, 2012 Roosevelt’s Four Freedoms Freedom of Speech Freedom to Worship God in his own way Freedom from Want Freedom from Fear In his address to Congress on January 6, 1941 Franklin D. Roosevelt revealed his four essential human freedoms. Two were covered in the American Constitution. They were freedom of speech and freedom of worship, both addressed in the First Amendment. Our founding fathers covered those essentials. Roosevelt’s next two freedoms seemed both unrealistic and unwise. Freedom from want is impossible to bestow. The human condition is the more we get the more we want. In Roosevelt’s mind perhaps it was freedom from want of food, clothing and shelter. But as we saw in the financial collapse of 2007, shelter wasn’t enough. People who couldn’t afford it used the system to buy very expensive houses that were far beyond their means. Shelter, not that they needed, but that they wanted. We saw a similar result in Louisiana after hurricane Katrina. Cash was handed out to alleviate the distress many people were under without food, clothing or shelter. It was found many used that money for unnecessary items, including bling. Coveting jewelry to adorn themselves before putting a roof over their heads. To promise freedom from want is to feed the worst demons in man. Men and women will want everything they can get for free. If government is offering those things, many will be lined up to get their share and more. After all, if they don’t partake it will go to someone else. Even our local governments and school districts succumb to greed. They take the money they don’t need because it will only go to someone else. The state of Oregon has received millions in cash awards for giving out ever increasing free food. The goal is not feeding the hungry, but giving as much away a possible. It is not an issue of need, but want. Many want all they can get for nothing. Government is obsessed with giving these things away to make the majority dependent and subservient to them, solidifying their rule over the people. Thomas Jefferson in his 1787 letter to Edward Carrington stated, “Among [European Governments], under pretense of governing, they have divided their nations into two
  • 21. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 4 classes, wolves and sheep.” Roosevelt’s freedoms of want and fear certainly move us toward that split of the population. Weakening the people by giving them what they think they want. Freedom from Want; a Bottomless Pit! FDR’s Freedom from Want, Nurturing the Child to be Spoiled and the State of Fear! However, in the process of giving more freedoms, he is taking away their will, their backbone, so they will forever live in fear. This idea freedom from want is nurturing the greed, gluttony and weakness in the people instead of the strength and independence that built our nation and a free people. While Roosevelt wanted to free the people of fear, his fourth freedom, in actuality was instituting a form of government that would hold the iron fist of dependence over the people’s heads. He was grooming a people to weakness, making for them an environment of dependence where they would always live in fear. Wondering if they would get what they expected and could they carry on if they did not. It destroys the confidence and self-esteem of the individual, making free and independent people into dependent sheep. Offering a government of total power, he was building an engine of fear that ran in Nazi Germany and Stalinist Russia. He wanted to give the people things in exchange for their freedoms. Payoffs to accept serfdom to the government! Not freedom, but slavery to the government! Number 4 January 7, 2012 The Old Rope-A-Dope Mohammed Ali defeated highly favored George Foreman in Zaire, Africa in the “Rumble in the Jungle” October 30, 1974 with a tactic called “Rope-a-Dope”. Foreman was huge,
  • 22. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 5 built like a brick outhouse, arms flailing, continually throwing punches, looking like a windmill. Ali’s career and skills seemed to be waning. Forman would throw a blizzard of punches for six to seven rounds, barely giving an opponent a chance to breath. They weren’t mere jabs either. They started from the deck shooting to the rafters of these boxing cathedrals. They would have broken the necks of normal men. The wile Ali covered and fell into the ropes, looking like road kill for the massive bombs Foreman was throwing. Foreman eagerly advanced for the kill, sure he was going to get it. As was everyone watching around the world! By the seventh round Foreman was tiring. In the eighth Ali landed a few bombs of his own. Foreman just beat the bell but had nothing left. The fight ended and Ali returned as champion. Political Campaigns are beginning years before the elections. Barack Obama has been campaigning for his second term instead of being a president. It seems like a long march to nowhere, with nothing being accomplished but a lot of rhetoric. Long campaigns just create higher campaign expenses. To have all these republican debates burns money and energy, of both the people and the candidates. The opposing party in power loves the multitude of opportunities for their adversaries to make a gaff or blunder. The media can harp on it for the next year, building an arsenal of explosive sound bites to undermine the candidates of which they disapprove. It just seems as though the “Rope-a-Dope” tactic is being used on the republicans. They punch themselves out on each other. Expending energy, capital and often credibility, tarnished with the help of a biased media. This Rope-a-Dope would not work without a corrupt media! It is a waste of resources and energy which gives the media and who they support more power. After all it helps the media fill time for their 24 hour news channels. Money for ads also fills their coffers. It gives the mainstream media great power and control over elections. It is the media giving Obama the power of “Rope-a-Dope”. Number 5 January 9, 2012 Celebrity, American’s Gross National Product America used to be a manufacturing giant. Producing steel and the heavy equipment it was molded into. Cars, trucks, trains and planes came pouring from our factories. Things, solid and real, the engines of progress for our nation, society and the world! Dynamic, innovative and productive, a country producing real things, real life and real people!
  • 23. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 6 Our national product now seems to be celebrity. Kids in school, instead of wanting to be doctors, engineers, scientists or some other profession, that has an honest impact on society, just want to be famous. Fame is the end result they seek. Not fame through accomplishment, but fame by being known. Our productivity creates Real Housewives, shallow and narcissistic women, engaged in gossip and backstabbing. It creates Kardashians, shallow and narcissistic women, engaged in gossip and backstabbing. People watch mob and basketball wives, shallow and narcissistic women, engaged in gossip and backstabbing. Is this reality what many in America desire to be? Yes, it seems so! America’s Gross National Product Trash TV! Movies, television and the computer can bring about that fame, creating celebrity for a person. Being seen doing something creative, performances of art can do the trick. Being seen doing something ignorant, destructive and asinine can also create fame and celebrity. Or just being seen in the right place at the right time! However, these endeavors do not create a substantive foundation for the economy of our nation. The media/movie industry is a nice frill. It exhibits some of the culture of our nation. But, it is merely illusion. It does generate business and profit but not the kind that can sustain a nation. It has no real substance on which to build a nation, though it can record the building. Or it can distort the building. It is much like the story telling of the Native Americans. Stories that tell of the greatness and accomplishments of those tribes! The stories and story tellers are only after the fact mouths and voices of the greatness. This is what the movie and the book provides to a society. Without the steel backbone of any society, the culture cannot evolve. It needs the power and strength to be generated from concrete activities of real people, making, manufacturing, production to allow the time and atmosphere for the arts.
  • 24. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 7 Our celebrity is no longer generated by only talent in the arts and sports. It is generated by things society and families used to avoid. Airing ones dirty laundry can make a person famous. Having explicit sexual escapades released to society can make a person famous. Acting like an incurable ass can bring fame to people. This seems to be the desire of many in our country from young to old. There are no standards of behavior and the standards of success have changed. People behave like animals, acted or real, one has to question. Most heinous is this conflagration of idiots and clowns have been handed the power to make commentary on our nation. They influence, exemplify and model. To many they are role models to aspire to be like! We the people hand them this power, bowing before celebrities who we should be ashamed and ignore. How sad is that! It weakens us, our nation, its character and its ability to survive! Number 6 January 11, 2012 Governmental Character Recently there was a news report on the low turn over rate and low discharge rate for the federal government. Government officials and government union officials attribute it to the high caliber and skill level of the government worker. That is really difficult to agree with this assessment. For example, the FBI worker pleasuring himself at his desk while watching porn on his computer. He received a two week suspension according to an official involved in disciplinary actions. Other FBI workers only watching porn at the work sites received one week suspensions as reported. These are examples of the high quality workers in government who most assuredly would have been fired for such actions in the private sector. Perhaps the examples of President Bill Clinton and Representative Anthony Weiner have been taken up as character models in the Federal Government. (See previous article – America Has Spawned a New Race of Gods, the Gods of Elite Entitlement) Treasury Secretary Timothy Giethner, tax cheat accepted, holds that high caliber and skill level. Perhaps character has nothing to do with employment anymore. At least it has nothing to do with employment in government. Or, perhaps lying, cheating, stealing and sexual misconduct are the skills government is looking for. Remember, what we are seeing is merely the tip of the iceberg. (See December 26, 2011 Cartoon “The Corruption We See is but the Tip of the Iceberg!)
  • 25. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 8 Number 7 January 13, 2012 The Politics of Fear; One Hundred and One Ways to Bring Armageddon to Earth The quantity of television programming is overwhelming. In hundreds of channels it seems 90% is reality TV. Housewives from hell, sports and news talk are incessantly discussing the minutia of what is going on in their expert area of gossip. Mind numbing repeats of events from a thousand talking head’s points of view! Additionally disturbing are programs and channels that years ago had somewhat substantive programming have turned to tripe. Bravo, birthing nasty women constantly announcing how wonderful they are but behaving like witches. Woman that men seeing them would only marry for their money, making a pact with the devil! Men that are just plain idiots! Most frightening is the History Channels, The National Geographics Channels and The Syfy Channel, three that used to provide some thought provoking and entertaining material. Now they seem to have allied in bringing the message of doom to the world. A frightful and dismal picture is presented. The History Channel brings constant programming of prophesy. Programs containing those many predictors of dooms day! Sometimes interesting, but often slanted seemingly toward instilling the specter of destruction instead of knowledge. They point to asteroids, solar flares, or blasts of solar energy shot from the sun. National Geographics Channel presents programs on what would happen if CO2 dominates the atmosphere or, if the planet overheats or the earth stops spinning or an asteroid hits the earth or the magnetic field disappears. They present more “what ifs” than Barack Obama in his Obamanomics. Syfy has marathons of stories about the destruction of the earth. From the end of the Mayan Calendar, to an avenging dragon popping out of a mountain top and all the other stuff too! A hundred and one ways for the earth to end or the population to be wiped out for the next stage of life on earth! One way or another Doomsday is going to get you. People are much more familiar with the word Armageddon than they are with the word integrity. The extinction of integrity is more likely to end the earth than all these fantastic cataclysms. These are all possibilities. Minute possibilities! But over millions of years odds are some will happen. Most are events we likely will be able to do nothing about.
  • 26. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 9 Meteoric Destruction Like When the Dinosaurs Disappeared Awaiting Armageddon! One can’t help but think from behaviors witnessed from politicians, mass media and Hollywood types, there is a motivation for such programming. That motivation has to do with the philosophy Rom Emanuel expressed for Barack Obama of “Never waste a good crisis”. We have seen these politicians constantly creating crisis to advance acceptance for their ideas. Frightening people so they are allowed to spend more of the people’s money to put profit and power in their pocket’s and those of their cronies. The 2007 financial meltdown, healthcare, financial regulation reform, the Gulf oil spill, the debt ceiling, Fannie and Freddie and many more! Putting the American people in a weakened state of fear where they place their dependence on the government has great advantage for those who would love to move us to socialism and ever expanding government. Bombardment with ideas of the possible destruction of our planet and way of life certainly could serve a major purpose in this evolution from democracy to socialism. Using entertaining propaganda to brainwash people with dismal ideas of destruction, preparing them for the certain failures under socialism! Socialism is about power, authoritarianism! Doomsday for democracy! Number 8 January 16, 2012 Doctor Phil Advising on Truth Telling, Or The Art of Lying Doctor Phil was advising one of his victims caught up in her husband’s criminality on truth telling. He outlined how to state her case of innocence in her husband’s criminal activity. As a trial consultant, he reminded he advised people on such things for many years. His advice was, “State your innocence on a few specific issues strongly and repeatedly.”
  • 27. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 10 Then he turned to a lawyer in his audience and asked him how he felt about what he, Doctor Phil had just said. The lawyer most heartily agreed with the good doctor’s assessment. His advice has the strong smell of marketing methodology. Pick a few points and focus on them. For products advertised that would be the positive points, avoiding any reference to the negative areas. Then comes the pounding, continuing the drumbeat of the message of innocence home over and over again! Sadly this may be the only way someone can get their reputation back when they are wrongfully accused for a crime they did not commit. It may be the only way to regain lost credibility, when that trust is wrongly lost. Unhappily innocence is not cherished in our marketing society like the techniques to sway public opinion. This provides a great trap for society. It provides directions to the same path a good liar could use to perpetuate his lies. We have seen it time and again. Lying adamantly, with conviction and a strong voice, good liars usually come across more convincingly than the innocent telling the truth. The Faulty Truth Meter “Good Liars” are practiced in the Dr. Phil prescription for being seen as truthful! The innocent are often timid in their denials. Often when innocent, they are naïve, nervous they are in such a situation. Those telling the truth often believe the truth will prevail, leaving themselves at the mercy of the liars who have mastered Dr. Phil’s methodology. Jon Corzine (Governor, Senator and Head of the bankrupt MF Global) was lauded innocent by many lawyers listening to his testimony before Congress because he declared his innocence with such conviction. Just like Doctor Phil and his lawyer in the audience outlined should be done. Corzine followed the prescribed steps. Like President Bill Clinton when he said, “I did not have sexual relations with that woman!” Facing the nation on television he got a stern look on his face and pointed accusingly at the American people as though we were the unjust. Dr. Phil has revealed the blue print, the formula, for the professional, habitual and pathological liar!
  • 28. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 11 So many politicians have made such Clinton and Corzine like denials when actually guilty of the crime or misconduct. John Edwards and Anthony Weiner are two such excellent examples! It is reflex for the politicians to deny even when guilty, in hopes of the people believing because they are so adamant and persistent in denying guilt. It is just another common tool in their tool box of political tricks. In fact, Dr. Phil’s method of declaring innocence is the system invented, practiced and perfected by “the Liar”. Used relentlessly by politicians and bureaucrats. A tool especially suggested by lawyers for their guilty clients in the courtroom. That is why it is so difficult to distinguish the innocent from the guilty. We have many people, politicians and professions so practiced at lying till they have perfected the art. They have lying down pat! Number 9 January 18, 2012 Eric Holder Declaring Racism; Applying the Hot Iron of the Racist Brand February 19, 2009 Attorney General Eric Holder accused America of being a nation of cowards, afraid to talk about race. Part of the reason for Americans being afraid of the discussion is liberals going around branding people as racist in order to destroy them. The race discussion is often a trap to bull dog and tie up an opponent, like a steer in the rodeo ring rendering them helpless, readying them for branding as “racist”. Al Gore Branding Global Warming Skeptics as Racist Former vice president Al Gore declared “Global Warming skeptics are this generations racists!” He is branding those disagreeing with “Global Warming” as racists. Even after all the misinformation Gore himself has injected into the discussion, through his movie, “An Inconvenient Truth”. Gore charges to doubt his misrepresentations is racist? First he chided them as flat world believers and any other smear he could come up with. Now he is escalating his rhetoric labeling them racist. Gore is doing the bullying he accuses the global warming skeptics of doing. He says we, his global warming believers have to win the conversation of what he calls accepted science. His whole “Global Warming” strategy has been an arm twisting, truth bending and bullying, campaign! Why don’t he and his scientists debate those disagreeing? Gore claims science as a whole is being questioned unfairly when “Global Warming Pushers” browbeat other scientists that disagreed. He talks about integrity, something he is not known for practicing and we should believe him and take him at his word?
  • 29. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 12 The University at East Anglia in Great Britain caught admitting lying, manipulating and destroying information to strengthen their “Global Warming” arguments should cause us no doubts? If we have doubts because of their corrupt actions, according to Al Gore, we are racist? Sharpening the Racist Weapon, Associating the Tea Party and Socialism with Racism Political comedian Janeane Garofalo has branded Tea Party members as purely racist. This declaration was supported by Keith Olbermann on his show. Many others have branded the Tea Party as racist, joining a choir singing the praises of hatred. The media has declared socialist and socialism as the new “N” word. Strategically tying socialism, a government takeover of power, to racism! Like a magician liberals are labeling any action and anyone disagreeing with their agendas as racism or racist. CBC Pointing the Fickle Finger of Racism Congressional Black Caucus member on this years “Bashing the Tea Party Summer Tour” Rep. Andre Carson, D-Ind., likened the Tea Party to the Jim Crow era saying "Some of these folks in Congress right now would love to see us as second-class citizens." Carson added, "Some of them in Congress right now of this Tea Party movement would love to see you and me, I'm sorry, hanging on a tree." The Rev. Jesse Jackson took this “Tea Party Bashing Summer Tour” opportunity to brand the Tea Party racist with cutesy references to Fort Sumter and Martin Luther King. “The tea party opposing Obama,” Jackson said, “Should be called the Fort Sumter Tea Party that sought to maintain states' rights and slavery.” Continuing he stretched, “The tea party is a new name on an old game," He substituted today’s Tea Party for the segregationists Dr. King confronted in Alabama misrepresenting, “Dr. King fought a 'tea party' in Alabama...He had no weapons, but he confronted the tea party.” Rep. Shiela Jackson Lee has long denounced the Tea Party as racist at an NAACP meeting. She compared the Tea Party to the Ku Klux Clan and claimed elements of the Tea Party have a fascination with race. She forgets lynching in the south was perpetrated by democrats against blacks and republicans supporting the cause of blacks. The KKK was a democrat organization dedicated to the purpose of keeping blacks down, real racism! Holder Aims the Racist Weapon Eric holder is now employing the race card to beat back questioners of his incompetent if not criminal actions in the “Fast and Furious” gun running affair he oversaw yet denied knowledge in a letter to Congress. According to Kyle Rogers, Charleston Conservative Examiner, in his January 16, 2012 article, Eric Holder Tells NAACP that Whites Want to Take Away Their Voting Rights, “Eric Holder recently blamed white people for his problems. He said his critics are racists who don’t like him because he is black.”
  • 30. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 13 Holder according to Rogers, “Claimed that South Carolina’s new voter registration law is an attack on minorities.” This is another claim of racism Holder is charging to intimidate people, backing them off from the accusations of his misconduct. While Holder was somewhat correct in accusing America of cowardice in failure to discuss the race issue honestly and openly, he hypocritically has employed the method of intimidating people with the brand racist to discourage looking into his possible misconduct. Perhaps the Race Conversation Will Occur? Charging racism is a method that worked for many years. It turned many Americans into cowards on the subject. What they have been doing may turn the tide. The so-called American cowards are now ready to discuss racism and at the same time confront Holder with his alleged misconduct. The question is do liberals have the courage to allow the discussion. Do they really want it discussed, or would they prefer it remain a club they can use to beat opponents into submission. A hot iron they can apply to an enemy to brand them “racist” forever. (See earlier article: Discussing Racism: Fools Venture Where Angels Fear to Tread, and follow-up segment: “Charges of Racism Camouflage Socialism) Number 10 January 20, 2012 Selfishness Creates a Sluggish Economy The economy seems stuck in neutral. Like being caught in the road side gutter in deep snow the car rocks back and forth, getting nowhere. Rocking forward and backward, the vehicle falls back into the same hole created by the spinning tires. The stock market similarly stuck just above twelve thousand. Likely that high because of the manipulations of the Federal Reserve printing more money! The Dow hovering at 12,500 might seem pretty good for the market. Remember that twelve thousand five hundred is not the same as it was three or four years ago. With the printing of more dollars, the value of each dollar is decreased. You see that in the grocery store or at the gas pump where your dollar does not go nearly as far. The value of each point in the price of a stock is therefore similarly decreased. A stock at 25 even if it remained there through all this financial crisis still has lost value. So, perhaps you have stocks that have dropped in market points, also each point has dropped in its value of each point. That stock is far below the values it was several years ago. So the mark at a greatly devalued Twelve thousand five hundred!
  • 31. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 14 The Result of Obamanomics The Obama economic policy shrinks the dollar, weakening it and America too! We have seen individuals like George Soros and Warren Buffet are rich enough and have the ability to manipulate the marked for agenda’s to which they are partial. We have seen people of less means suckered into the market time and again. The small investor driving the market up, raising stock prices! Then those rich speculators bail out to reap the profits picking the bones of the average middleclass investors! Yes, the uncertainty of Obamanomics has discouraged businesses large and small from investing in their future and that of the nation. They are waiting to see if the administration is going to continue to punish businesses or let them thrive. So far it looks like they are preparing to pounce with new taxes on those businesses. This slows the economy. One area most economists are forgetting is the middleclass. This is the only time in memory personal investment consultants have advised clients to keep a good amount of cash at home. They have advised to put money in their mattress because of the economic uncertainty our government has had a primary role in creating. Mistrust of the integrity and competence of government has created this uncertainty. The incompetent actions of this administration have added to the doubt. Mistrust of Wall Street and the banks and banking system has made it worthwhile to keep money in the mattress. After all the banks are paying about 0.2 % for regular saving accounts and about 1.5% for CDs. Bankers and banks have clearly shown the ability to lose money on accounts that were supposed to be safe. What are the advantages of putting money in a bank during these times? Is it really safer when there are robbers both within and outside the banks? Which one is more likely to rob you? The pockets of the middleclass Americans have been picked by the government in so many ways. Politician’s addiction to more taxation rather than reducing spending, along with foolish and thoughtless spending burdens the people! Bailouts of rich banks and Quantitative Easing programs 1, 2 and 3 rob the people. Our energy policy which forces gas prices higher sucks money from the people.
  • 32. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 15 This seems to be a view not discussed. How many billions of dollars are tucked in mattresses that used to be invested? How many people are holding back because of the displayed incompetence of government and the banks too big to fail? The economy is sluggish because there is nothing out there for middleclass America to trust. Neither the government, nor the financial institutions including the leaders of both! None of those people leading them have shown worthiness of trust! Until competence and honesty are seen and trust returned, there likely will be no major recovery. Number 11 January 22, 2012 Social Networking: Part 1 of 4. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly Social Networking began as a frivolous pastime to cavort with friends and family. It evolved into telling those friends and family about everything we are doing. In some cases it became a brag fest of every action a person engaged in, modeled by social network celebrities like the Kardashians. Net Star Caught in the Net! Sadly, the Kardashians have become the poster girls of those made famous by social media. Creating lucrative celebrity for themselves by wallowing in the muck and mire in front of a young and impressionable population. The Kardashian girls have marketed themselves through their partying, promoting their sex lives, even mugging for the cameras while sitting on the toilet. Kris Jenner pimping her children has made them rich and famous, or perhaps infamous. While skills such as getting drunk, laid or sitting on the toilet do not seem the way to success, they appear to have become a viable talent in today’s world of celebrity. Where America’s main products used to be those innovations invented and manufactured, through the sweat of the American worker, it now seems this empty celebrity is the nation’s contribution to the world. It is the primary product America produces. Many see this as a way to fame and fortune, the coveted “lifestyle of the rich and famous”. Some have succeeded using this model. Many more are reaching for the brass ring embracing the Kardashian behavior in Hollywood or other places in the vain and
  • 33. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 16 arrogant entertainment industry. While at times it catches fire and makes a millionaire, more often it brands a person indelibly, forever affecting their lives; personal and work. Those copying the Kardashian method have found perspective employers checking social networks for information on perspective employees. Drunken partying and pulling clothes up and down, exposing oneself is not a good reference for those seeking jobs in the real world. Social networking has many facets, good, bad and in between. It is a universe in which to tread cautiously and with commonsense. Number 12 January 24, 2012 Social Networking; Part 2 of 4. Career Development and Professional Networking In spite of the dangers social networking presents with regard to reputation and career, it has become an integral part of the career development process. At this point in time, social networking has become essential to the job search process. Not only are employers looking for possible negatives of perspective employees on My Space, Face Book and Twitter, but now there are sites for the professional to show their information to impress an employer. Sites like Linkedin, that recently went public, are places where people can display their professional résumés, along with other important employment, experience and skill information. It is set up so much information can be shared in a very professional manner. The site can be updated and enhanced easily, crafting a useful tool and message over time. Net Connections A net to be utilized! There are also places where additional sites can be accessed from Linkedin. Additional and important information can be linked to display talents and skills. For instanced if writing on Examiner, those works can be linked to show perspective employers actual work.
  • 34. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 17 If one has a body of work which can be displayed there are sites that can assist the effort. Internet places like Carbonmade provide such locations. Photography, paintings, drawings, sculptures, even written articles can be displayed in a very professional way. The beauty of these sites is an individual can display themselves in each and every aspect of their abilities. They can more easily show the entire three dimensional being! The résumé showed merely one dimension, two at best. These tools allow the entire creativity and ability of the individual to be exhibited in a very professional way, branding themselves! While it helps in showing us to others, it also serves as a personal inventory. The process helps us to make a personal inspection. It is easier to summarize ones arsenal of abilities and skills in ones own mind. It helps us to see, summarize and know ourselves. This familiarity will aid greatly in the face to face networking and in the interview processes. It can be a growth encounter with oneself. MySpace, Facebook and Twitter, while they can have pitfalls they can also be used to enhance the professional sites. It is marketing. Getting your name, your brand out there is the name of the game. The more sites you are on, the more times your name may come up when it is Googled or binged. In our marketing and self-promotional world this can be a great advantage. Number 13 January 26, 2012 Social Networking; Part 3 of 4. A Place to Hide While there are many positives to some aspects of social networking system, they too have their own pitfalls. Like the fluffy social networking, even the professional sites can go to ones head. It can be like getting your high school yearbook signed at the end of your senior year. You go around asking everyone you know, even vaguely, to sign your book, to tally up a list of friends as you enter the rest of your life. You may actually be more susceptible to this now since you have experienced days after school are perhaps lonelier socially than those days in school. As you tally friends and followers, it can make you feel quite good. You can quantify friends with a number and that can be exhilarating. Your numbers keep growing and you feel more popular. Your self-esteem rises as the numbers on your counters rise too.
  • 35. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 18 Reality must be checked. On many sites your friends or followers might be businesses seeking access to dollars you might spend with them. They are using the sites to advertise their business, their profession and you merely a means to that end. Perhaps some are the other end of a relationship spectrum that is also enamored with the increasing counter of their friends and followers. They too are obsessed with the need to increase their self-esteem. They just want to add another number whether they know the person or not. The fact is lost they are merely faceless numbers, not really friends. It sounds silly, but it is easy to be seduced by these numbers being presented to you. Aspiring Stars caught in the Net Caught in the tangled, web like net! While real self-esteem is developed and raised by accomplishment, as a society we have been taught to be vulnerable to this false sense of self! We are prone to this seduction of false compliments. We’ve been taught to hear what we want to hear, do what everyone else is doing to be in and popular. It is quickly becoming a norm. This false self-esteem that is disguised as the real thing can sabotage us. We find our real selves when we are aware of the dangers and navigate them, using this social media for our advancement, achievement and growth as a human being. Not a place to avoid the real world. Number 14 January 28, 2012 Social Networking; Part 4 of 4. The Future While this social networking is the rage now, it is difficult to say what the future holds. We are merely at the beginning of the system for the professional. It appears to have many advantages now. For the employer it offers a massive pool of talent. So large in fact, computers are often doing the sorting, scanning, zeroing in on key words.
  • 36. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 19 Years ago employers wanted the details endorsed in the cover letter. They would have thought it uncreative if you just listed the same words they used in their ads. Today it is essential to use those same words so the computer will identify and sort them. This has evolved to a phenomenon called white words, where words are typed in white ink, on white paper, in the margins. White words refer to skills a person doesn’t have, but will help their résumé through the computer sorting process. The white ink will not be detected visually on the résumé, but will be detected positively by the computer scanning and sorted for skills the person does not possess. There have always lies added to résumés by some. Pushing the envelope to gain an advantage! The lie has been successfully used by some to attain very high positions. So really, the white lie of white words is not a surprise. Then I wonder about too much information. Does this help the hiring process, or are employers being clamped in irons, confused by an overdose of information, thrown into a state of procrastination. Often they are hiring out the selection process because it has become too cumbersome. Government, even school boards have used a method of over piling on information to confuse the people. The Net, Full of Folds, Knots, Wrinkles and Tangles The net, places to bloom, grow and hide! When everyone is doing this, there is a sea of data out there. How do you wade through that sea when massive waves of information are rolling over you? How do you navigate a sea of data of infinite breath and depth? In a sense this process can mask more than it reveals. Perhaps the system will devolve to a well written cover letter and resume once again, telling an employer all they need to know about the person. As the pendulum swings and technology advances at break neck speed, who knows what is next?
  • 37. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 20 Number 15 January 30, 2012 Refuting Sharpton’s Dirty Glass Theory: Part 1 of 2. What’s Clean, What’s Dirty? After the South Carolina primary, Al Sharpton sat in a conclave of media liberals on CNN. They gossiped like a high school clique, laughing a Gingrich’s success. They besmirched in a bullying manner, using mockery to set the tone. They belittled the people who voted for Gingrich. They admitted the high unpopular ratings of both Obama and Gingrich. Then Sharpton stated Obama would beat Gingrich just because the people wanted a clean glass. It wouldn’t matter how unpopular Obama was in the polls, Gingrich was worse. Al Sharpton’s long and tarnished history has proven himself unworthy to judge the clean glass. He could see dirty glasses as clean because he has seldom if ever had contact with a real clean glass. It’s like the mud hole calling the glass dirty! Besides, Sharpton never found a glass too dirty to drink from if there was something in it for him. Al Sharpton, the Mud Hole Calling the Glass Dirty! Is Obama a cleaner glass than Gingrich? Obama, spawned from the corrupt Chicago Illinois political machine is seen as the clean glass? Content poured from the polluted Chicago gangster politics pitcher, the glass would be contaminated no matter what. (See Dec. 29, 2011 article “Rod Balgojevich, the Model of the Illinois/Chicago Politician”.) Barack Obama is the Saul Alinsky disciple and professor of the Saul Alinky’s “Rule for Radicals” philosophy. Alinsky’s book is Obama’s plan for his leadership methodology and direction he has taken our country. (See Dec. 9, 2011 article “I Trust Barack Obama”.) While we may have to wear rubber gloves, going against many of our own principles to pull the lever for Newt Gingrich, it would have to be an awfully despicable person
  • 38. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 21 running to pull the lever for Barack Obama. (See the up and coming series of articles on the Obama Experience.) We are not going to get a white knight, a savior. That just doesn’t happen very often. A savior was voted for in the last election. How did that turn out? We have an arrogant narcissist taking us to hell in a hand basket. Incompetence and corruption are his hallmarks along with the marketing tong of the horse trader selling a horse with a broken leg or a president selling a failed economic policy. Number 16 February 1, 2012 Refuting Sharpton’s Dirty Glass Theory; Part 2. One Dirty Glass to Another If Gingrich is the republican candidate many will ask, why should we vote for him? He is as arrogant and narcissistic as is Obama. Anyone would be hard pressed to argue that point. Certainly one should not mortgage their credibility to do so. He is an insufferable pompous ass. However, Obama fits that category also. Sharpton Identifies the Dirty Glass? Dirty glass to dirty glass! Here’s the difference! Gingrich possesses real intelligence. His intelligence flows from study, experience and application. Not merely intelligence assigned for attending Harvard, by the snobbishly superior Harvard political elite. He has intelligence gained through experience and accomplishment. Gingrich possesses the ability to develop an idea, plan a strategy, put the pieces and people together, managing it to a positive conclusion. He has done this numerous times through his career. He has vision and the ability to make the vision reality. This skill is rare in the private sector. Practically unknown in government among politicians and bureaucrats.
  • 39. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 22 Obama has no such skills but those of the Alinsky deception and destruction. He continuously hands the ball off to others because he couldn’t and never was able to carry it. His experience in the Illinois state legislature of voting a noncommittal present over 150 times revealed his lack of substance. He is “Not Present” in his leadership. He has shown himself to be “The Not Present President”! Like Gingrich, the Alinsky Obama is not virtuous. He is not the clean glass as professed by Al Sharpton. More likely he is the plastic cup that is not clean either. So is Gingrich really a step down or perhaps a big step up? As in the movie “The Untouchables” Sean Connery stated, “They bring a knife we’ll bring a gun!” Perhaps it is not time to bring the virtuous to the battle. They cannot stand up against the plague of Chicago corruption that has descended upon Washington. Not that Washington was clean before they got there, but they polluted it to a much greater extent. They nurtured the Pelosi/Reid infestation. Perhaps it is time “To fight fire with fire”. To march out someone capable of getting down in the dirt with Obama and his Chicago gangster troops like Rom Emanuel and his stealth army formerly know as ACORN, nurturer of pimps and child prostitutes. Someone who will not allow Obama to get away with his glib, meaningless comments and slogans and Alinsky lies! Perhaps this is the best thing for a dirty political street fighter to take on the corrupt Chicago politician that is Obama. Maybe it will take such a person to defeat similar people, dirty glass to dirty glass. This then could pave the way for the virtuous candidate. Working toward a cleaner Washington and a cleaner government! Perhaps a cleaner future for America! Still, we cannot depend on that with untrustworthy politicians. The people must be vigilant, present and active to wash the dirty glasses from politics and keep them clean. Number 17 February 3, 2012 Who Killed Joe Paterno? At the very least, Joe Paterno did in the child molestation case of Jerry Sanduski what few others would have done because they don’t want to get involved. He took it to a higher authority at Penn State University and expected the leaders of this bastion of higher education to deal with the matter in a responsible and ethical manner. However, people had higher expectations of Paterno. He had a history of being the white knight in situations and performing above and beyond expectation. Paterno was punished for his oversight of just being a more than normal human being and his Polly Anna attitude the University would do the right thing.
  • 40. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 23 Paterno working at the university had unrealistic expectations of the character of Penn State leadership and likely our large universities in general. We think of them as pulpits of truth and honor, where students go to learn ethics, morals and other such altruistic philosophies. The power the education industry and such universities now wield, they have often sacrificed integrity to advance their own power through political agendas. We forget education is a business, as are these universities. Marketing themselves is a major part of the business. Marketing their positive attributes and often hiding their negative ones. They often ignore things that would produce bad publicity. It is well know colleges and universities have often ignored or manipulated their rape histories, a dangerous negligence on their part. What we thought were fortresses of knowledge and truth are really bunkers to protect the power agendas of warped and distorted knowledge, propaganda. Because Paterno was a good man, the expectations he would always do the exceptional thing were high. When he didn’t, he failed in the eyes of many. He was also a good story to fill the 24 hour news and sports on television. He was good fodder for the holier than thou talking head sports and news media gristmill to grind down for their pleasure. They seemed to take pleasure in the crucifying of Joe Paterno. Many who knew him said his being made into the scapegoat is what killed him. His players, his associates and even his peers of opposing coaches have said he died of a broken heart. Joe Paterno was murdered by a higher education system that has often sacrificed human beings to sexual predators to keep their reputations clean. Paterno paid for the sins of the university leadership. His own sin was expecting better from them. He isn’t the first to be sacrificed and he won’t be the last. (See previous articles “The Penn State Affair”, Parts 1 & 2, November 14 and 16, 2011) Number 18 February 5, 2012 The Obama Experience Part 1 – The 2008 Campaign In the 2008 presidential election Barack Obama’s experience was compared to that of Sarah Palin. It was a comparison of Obama’s short stay as an Illinois State Senator where he voted a noncommittal present on issues over 150 times. It included his short service as a US Senator of barely a year before he began campaigning for president. Most important was his service as a community organizer, which seemed to remain pretty much undefined.
  • 41. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 24 Palin’s experience as a mayor and governor in Alaska and some concrete accomplishments were dismissed. The real things she accomplished were ignored. Her statement, she could see Russia from her back porch took center stage. It was turned into a joke, turning to ridicule, digging away at her credibility. The liberal mainstream media did a hatchet job on Palin in service to Obama. Her use of this country colloquialism, to say something close you could see from your back porch was blown-up way out of proportion, thus defining Palin with a false perception. Depicting her as a country yokel, as compared to Obama’s elite Harvard Education and world view was a major part of the Obama campaign donated and carried on by the mainstream media. When Obama said there were 57 states, a real gaff, it was glossed over and ignored. When he revealed to Joe the Plumber his intentions of redistribution of wealth, the mainstream media ignored Obama’s words and attacked the plumber. Liberal media began designating “Socialism” as the new “N” word to cover for Obama. Mainstream media was selective in whose so-called gaffs they displayed and whose they hid. Obama was marketed as a man of great intelligence. Being a Harvard Graduate was the primary reason for his pedestal as an intellectual. His books added fuel to the façade. Little in terms of accomplishment ever made the media to reveal any concrete actions or accomplishments. Obama was then and is now merely a marketed product, an image of words, not actions. Obama’s connections to radical extremists like the Reverend Jeramiah Wright, Father Pfleger and William Ayres were ignored. Many Obama gaffs and negative connections were hidden by the media. The majority liberal media became an arm of his political campaign machine, building Obama up and tearing Palin down. Lost in the conversation was Palin would be a heartbeat away from the presidency and Obama would be president. This was a fact few pointed out. It became Obama against Palin and the dominant liberal media molded it that way. While Palin may not have been ready for the presidency, she was clearly far more qualified than Obama. Democrat mouth piece Donna Brazile defined the “community organizer” in the usual nebulous but powerful terms saying, “Pontius Pilot was a governor, Jesus Christ was a community organizer!” This statement put the halo of the savior Jesus Christ upon the brow of Barack Obama. According to Brazile’s statement, Jesus Christ was the definition of the “community organizer”. This is how an extremely inexperienced Obama rose to the presidency of the United States of America.
  • 42. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 25 Number 19 February 6, 2012 Rep. Tom Reed, On the Spot, but a Little off the Mark (Pardon the interruption on “The Obama Experience” 8 Part series!) Tom Reed Holding Peers Accountable Calling out peers for wasteful spending attitudes! On Friday February 3, 2012 I heard our 29th District Congressman on Frankly Speaking, our local southern tier political talk show with Frank Acomb. Rep. Reed talked about a member of the House lamenting how they used to just spend. They didn’t have to worry about permission or a budget he whined. They just spent for what they thought they needed. More likely what they wanted. Mr. Reed called the Congressman out and said, “These are different times and we cannot do that anymore.” Mr. Reed deserves much credit for that action. Whether it was just the moment and the words did not come out just right, I can understand. But I must say this, just in case Mr. Reed does not understand. He missed a teaching moment. That Congressman reminiscing romantically about the old days when they spent like drunken sailors should have be told, “That was wrong! Using the America People’s money with such distain, disregard and incompetence was wrong. As wrong then as it is now and it is that attitude and action that has our nation on the brink of bankruptcy. You should be ashamed of yourself, your Congress and your government for behaving in such a manner!” The entire incident reveals how clueless most of our representatives are. Even when I hear the seemingly good ones talk, I hear words that make me afraid. They say we shouldn’t tax and spend more till the economy comes back. I envision once this problem is seen as fixed, they will go back to the drunken sailor spending, if they can ever get away from it, just continuing to pile up the debt.
  • 43. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 26 February 8, 2012 Number 20 The Obama experience; Part 2 of 8. Community organizer, falsely defined The person who originally defined the community organizer Saul Alinsky had his definitions selected by the main stream media to define it. These definitions were provided by Saul Alinky in “Rules for Radicals”. However, the media chose only certain content for those definitions, and avoided others, also distancing from the name Saul Alinsky. Few really knew what the community organizer was except those who followed the word of Alinsky. Most people in the country would never read his book. Especially those of the independent or conservative mode! Truly, Rules for Radicals, though tedious and convoluted, torture to read, should be required reading in our schools. Community organizer sounds good. It sounds like someone invested in the community to improve the situations for people in the community. It gives the impression of altruism and caring. Such seems part of the Alinsky methodology, putting titles on things that make them seem acceptable. Donna Brazile put great weight on the position when she said, “Pontius Pilot was a governor and Jesus Christ was a community organizer.” She elevated the position of community organizer, even though few knew what the position really entailed. At the same time she degraded the experience of governor, comparing Palin to one of the most reviled governors in biblical history and history in general. Pontius Pilot, the governor who washed his hands in the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. At a time when politician’s credibility was sinking to new lows, Palin was ingeniously compared with one of histories lowest governors. The term community organizer was polished and shined. The media gave it a clean and beautiful face, taking advantage of the public’s ignorance on the subject. They treated the term community organizer, just as they did the new face of Barack Obama on the scene. Cool, was a word used by Alinsky to describe the organizer. It was adopted readily by the mainstream media to advance the Obama image. This too was not given a clear definition, but from its use in our society was perceived as a positive by a vast majority of those hearing it. Obama was “cool”, and going to lead us to “hope and change” in a “bold and decisive” way! He appeared “cool” and said “cool” things. Placing him among the pillars of the Greek Gods in a Denver rally, presented Obama as a supreme being. Obama was a perfect commercial to sell a bogus product, socialism, “cold and calculating”, “not cool” in his approach.
  • 44. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 27 By keeping his history a mystery, they were able to build false faces for both Obama and the community organizer. Separating Obama from his past and giving him a brand new clean slate, they were able to build a persona that was highly desirable during a time of perceived financial crisis and public fear. Obama was able to get to the mainstream media revealing little of who he really was. He could spout generalities like “hope and change” and “bold and decisive” without ever clarifying what they meant or what those policies would be. People frighten by the financial crisis and the accompanying liberal scare tactics of the “Never waste a good crisis”, a strategy to advance the socialist agenda were opened to his hollow message. Number 21 February 10, 2012 The Obama experience; part 3 of 8: What is the community organizer? What is the community organizer really? To read Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radials” is to understand who Barack Obama is. Alinsky defined “community organizer” writing, “He does not have a fixed truth – truth to him is relative and changing.” Obama’s constant changes in position, saying what he needs to say, contradicting himself in front of different audiences, to him is an acceptable part of his strategy. Not having a fixed truth sounds like the license to lie. Alinsky dogma states, “The organizer is in a true sense reaching for the highest level for which a man can reach—to create, to be a “great creator,” to play God.” This is a philosophy and image Donna Brazile perpetuated when declaring, “Pontius Pilot was a governor, Jesus Christ was a community organizer.” Obama’s strategy; Alinsky’s “Rules For Radicals” declars, “Ego must be so all- pervading that the personality of the organizer is contagious, that it converts the people from despair to defiance creating mass ego.” Obama’s self-comparisons, to Lincoln, Washington, Roosevelt, Reagan, even God, acts of epidemic egotism get approval from the dominant liberal media! Obama is a staunch believer in his superiority, comparing with all the greatest of history, as indoctrinated by Alinsky! Values “organizers” are above include fidelity (loyalty); truth, at the organizer’s mood; accountability, promises like truth are fleeting, whimsical. Alinsky maintains “Ethical standards must be elastic to stretch with the times,” and “In the politics of human life, consistency is not virtue.” He discounts honesty, loyalty and consistency and endorses flip flopping, back stabbing and lying. Obama’s Alinsky ego bends “truth” to his needs, promises of loyalty are utilitarian, non- binding. This makes his oath of office as President meaningless for his word is
  • 45. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 28 meaningless. As an Alinsky organizer, Obama is the supreme judge. In his mind conman jive lies are truth. This is Alinsky’s definition of “COOL”! The mainstream media robotically uses Alinsky’s glossary to glorify Obama’s depravity! Number 22 February 12, 2012 The Obama experience: part 4 of 8. Who is Saul Alinsky, of whom Obama is a disciple and professor? Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” says, “An organizer knows that life is a sea of shifting desires, changing elements, of relativity and uncertainty, and yet he must stay within the experience of the people he is working with and act in terms of specific resolutions and answers, of definitiveness and certainty. To do otherwise would stifle the organization and action, for what the organizer accepts as uncertainty would be seen by them [the community, the people] as a terrifying chaos.” Alinsky’s is a plan for tearing down what exists, with no plan for building after introducing the chaos of destruction. His plan is for arresting power, not using it wisely. It is a selfish and destructive manipulation, of the community and the people, for his own ends. Alinsky says, “The man of action views the issues of means and ends in pragmatic and strategic terms. He thinks only of his resources and the possibilities of various choices and actions.” Alinsky defines of means and ends as, “The end is what you want, the means is how you get it.” You and yours, he and his, it is about selfish exploitation of the people to gain power for the individual or group. “To say that corrupt means corrupts the ends is to believe in the immaculate conception of ends and principles. The real arena is corrupt and bloody. Life is a corrupting process from the time a child learns to play his mother off against his father in the politics of when to go to bed; he who fears corruption fears life,” in his view. Alinsky sees corruption as the normal method of operation. He thinks one fights corruption out of fear, and those against corruption sniveling cowardly wimps. To reject corruption is not fear of it, while embracing corruption often is, so which one fears life? Alinsky goes on, “The practical revolutionary will understand Goethe’s “conscience is the virtue of observers and not the agents of action”; in action, one does not always enjoy the luxury of a decision that is consistent with one’s individual conscience and the good of all mankind.”
  • 46. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 29 Alinsky has a dim view of mankind. Opposed to Thomas Jefferson’s view mankind’s destiny and salvation is in honesty and truth. Alinsky sees mankind embracing corruption as he has done so himself. He presents a dismal view of the future ensconced in a haze of corruption. Virtue is a joke and political life is ruthlessness. This is Obama’s philosophy and sadly many in our government, both parties, perhaps a majority practice it to varying degrees! One can see Alinsky recognizes the hell is creating. He has no reservations about putting us all in hell, because it is not about the people, but those who will rule the people no matter where they are. It clarifies Alinsky’s dedication of “Rules for Radicals”: Alinsky dedicated, “Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgement to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins-or which is which), the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom. – Lucifer” Number 23 February 14, 2012 The Obama experience; part 5 of 8. Alinsky Vs the founding fathers It appears, like Lucifer, Alinsky would rather reign in hell than serve in Heaven and he would be willing to damn us all to his hell to provide a kingdom for himself and his followers! He epitomizes the saying, “Misery loves company.” He certainly appears to have a dismal mentality. Alinsky’s cynical and pessimistic views of people and virtues present a dark view of life where things can only improve by destruction. This seems to be the strategy of all the mega villains in our movies these days. Destroy what exists and hope something better grows back. Our founding fathers devised a system in which virtue and integrity are aspired to. We can employ the system to work toward continual improvement of our society. If the people stay involved and keep pushing the politicians toward honesty and integrity we can reach a better place. There never can be perfection, a Utopia like liberals preach! We humans are not saints! That perfection they seek is not possible, because there are too many human foibles with which to contend. Giving government total control will only exacerbate and magnify those shortcomings. If we employ corruption as the norm, we pursue corruption as the intent. We sow the seeds of corruption and corruption will be the fruit which we harvest. Corruption will not
  • 47. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 30 likely mutate into blooming a good and wholesome society in such a decayed environment. If we employ honesty, integrity and morality pursuing our intents, we are much more likely to achieve it. Certainly there are always those opportunists that will bastardize those processes for their own purposes and turn good into the corrupt. If we as a people, like our founding fathers, make good our purpose, we will sow more seeds of good and harvest more of the fruits of good. If we acquiesce to accepting Alinsky’s inevitable nature of corruption, our entire society will become corrupt at various levels. The virtuous will be smothered in the waste products of the corrupt system and virtue will be banished from our society. Honesty and integrity will become extinct traits. If we aim toward honesty, integrity and morality, certainly from the history of human behavior we will fall short. But the history also shows we improve, reaching a little higher as the virtuous and virtues taught and supported are allowed to take root. In Alinky’s vision of society, that would not be allowed to happen and the multitude forms of corruption will inbreed, creating a society of decay. Number 24 February 16, 2012 The Obama experience; Part 6 of 8. One of many faces President Barack Hussein Obama is a man of many faces. Faces to fit various occasions, moods and needs! When it comes to his treatment of America and Americans, one of his faces is similar to that of the patronizing, cheating and/or mentally abusive spouse. He blames Americans for being wasteful and selfish, taking from the rest of the world to satisfy ourselves. While he speaks a modicum of truth, he forgets all this country has given and done for the rest of the world. He is attacking the self-esteem of Americans, stealing our confidence, preparing us for the dismal futures his dictatorial socialism is bringing. Obama appears invested in America failing. He lies causing us to question ourselves. “Did he really say that yesterday,” we question ourselves? Saul Alinsky’s ever changing truth exemplifies Obama’s integrity. He tells different audiences completely different truths, and blames others for misrepresenting him. He arrogantly jokes and laughs it off and ignores it when caught in a lie. He employs Dr. Phil’s method of being assertive and continuous in pounding home what he wants to present as truth. ( See Jan, 16, 2012 article “Dr. Phil Advising on Telling the Truth, or The Art of Lying”.)
  • 48. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 31 He usurps the people’s story as his own, as Alinky suggests. This is the cruel deception of the mentally abusive spouse. He claims the pain he inflicts on his victims is being inflicted upon him. He becomes the victim he creates in others, to continue to do selfishly what he wants. He talks about us behind our backs to others to make himself more respectable. He aggrandizes himself by going around the world bad mouthing America to other leaders and countries. This is the abusive spouse slandering his partner to justify his pathetic conduct, making him more acceptable; the good guy. Obama’s distorted belief, his vision through his Alinky goggles, gives him a license to lie and practice lack of loyalty, breaking promises and all manners of corruption. This is the Alinsky legacy Obama carries on as a disciple and professor of the Alinsky philosophy. This is the political dogma Obama has as his main experience and primary focus. Alinsky says, “There is a way to keep the action going and prevent it from being a drag, but this means constantly cutting new issues as the action continues, so that by the time the enthusiasm and the emotions for one issue have started to de-escalate, a new issue has come into the scene with a consequent revival.” This explains the Obama/Emanuel philosophy of “Never waste a good crisis” and why they are such drama queens creating one crisis after another. It keeps attention away from their underhanded pettiness and throws the people into a constant state of tension and fear. The states of tension and fear make it easier to create a new crisis and exploit it and the people! This is how Obama hides his real face, that of the socialist! President Barrack Obama is a possessor of many faces and pusher of many false truths, a man of variable values and certainly questionable integrity! Number 25 February 19, 2012 The Obama experience; Part 7 of 8. Obama’s presidential experience Obama’s inexperience, provided as a community organizer, has captained the nation into dangerous waters. Like the captain of the Titanic he runs the nations spending “Full Ahead” with warnings of dangerous consequences all around. Obama cites continually what would have happened if he hadn’t taken the actions he did. It is easy to say things would be worse if I hadn’t done what I did. Likely the mentally abusive spouses would voice in defense. It is hard to believe things would be worse when our debt has been increased by four trillion dollars and looks to grow even more rapidly under the Obama plans. Especially
  • 49. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 32 since we know this is the FDR plan which did not work during the “Great Depression” and likely caused it to be greater. As pointed out by FDR’s own secretary of the treasury Henry Morganthau Jr.! Now the media is touting Obama’s experience as president as why he should be re- elected. He has revealed himself as being a great campaigner, but lacking any semblance of being a competent leader. Perhaps this is the problem. The American Electoral System has evolved to being a place the used car salesman has great power with rhetoric and promises, leaving the visionary and productive leaders sitting home. As a people we are so enamored and controlled by the good speaker promising us everything. We like to hear the seductive words whispered into our ear. Obama’s limited successes are a comment on his experience. While he has been lucky for the opportunity to experience much, and has been given grand positions to attain that experience, he has not been able to turn that experience into anything productive or concrete. Obama is a TV commercial, a talking head for his product, himself and socialism! In fact he has turned his wonderful experience into something destructive. Such was the purpose of his Alinsky education, becoming a disciple and professor of the Alinky philosophy in “Rule for Radicals”. He has been taught to “tear down” not to “build up”. A rock has had great experiences through the millennia, there for the forming of the earth. Present as history was made time after time. At hand while time marched by and human beings evolved and societies became more civilized. Empires grew and fell like the cities they created. The rock has born witness even as part of foundations of civilizations to enhance a great experience. Obama has had a similar opportunity scaled down to a shorter life span. Yet Obama, like the rock has taken away little or little positive to utilize his experience. Has his experience had any positive affect on his abilities to accomplish or contribute? One would not judge yes from his accomplishments for the people he pledged to serve. If merely holding a position or passing a bill is considered accomplishment, we could give him a nod. If we expect positive productivity in the position or from the bills, Obama is no more than the inanimate rock with events going on around it, but taking nothing from them. Experience is not only being there, it is doing something. Something positive that will strengthen us as a free people and a free nation. One could easily say he is not quite a rock, because he has had negative and destructive affects on our nation and people, bankrupting the country and inviting socialism to enter. Obama’s presidential experience is as hollow as his experience leading up to his election to the presidency. He is a man of speeches and promises unfulfilled, and he sees nothing
  • 50. Commonsense Political Thinking of a Common Man (Book VII) 33 wrong with it. He can lie to himself as easily as he can to the people, talking of nonexistent accomplishments and it is okay, because he possesses the Alinsky “license to lie”. Obama’s experience and intellect has not helped him to reach beyond the dogma in which he has been indoctrinated, the propaganda programmed into his brain. He is mired in the destructive doctrine of Saul Alinsky and his “Rules for Radicals”. A good rule to follow in all aspects of life is, “Actions speak louder than words!” Number 26 February 21, 2012 The Obama experience; Part 8 of 8. Initiating class warfare The implementation of “Class Warfare” by Obama and his left wing cohorts is obviously from the Saul Alinsky play book, “Rules for Radicals”. It establishes the line of demarcation between Alinsky’s “Haves” and “Have Nots”. It establishes the “Haves” as one percent (1%) of the population and the “Have Nots” as the 99%. He enlists almost the entire population to reduce the “Haves” to “Have Nots”. Lighting the match to instigate this infighting is productive to the Alinsky method of toppling our democratic and capitalist system. It makes way for elitists, not the competent or capable of climbing to the top in a free system, using government to gain power over the people and the competent. What such leaders fear the most is competence and the people being knowledgeable and independent. This class warfare also distracts the people with this infighting from the corrupt actions the socialists are engaged in. While we are fighting each other, they are carrying out plans that take us farther into the web of serfdom they are building. Fighting each other we pave an easy road to the ends they seek. As we reduce the one percent from “Haves” to “Have Nots”, who becomes the next group seen as “Haves” to be reduced to “Have Nots”? Then the next top one percent becomes the “Haves” and is attacked by the population till they are reduced to a “Have Not”. It goes on and on and on till everyone is a product of what has been done under socialist regimes. The vast majority of the population is driven into poverty and the new one percent (1%) is government and their cronies controlling all aspects of our lives. We will have exchanged the old one percent that gave us opportunities through free enterprise for a new one percent, an authoritarian government that has destroyed the opportunities of capitulation for permanent poverty and serfdom. Manipulated by jealousy we may be watching as one at a time the top one percent is attacked, defeated and demoted to “Have Nots” while the leaders to socialism collected their booty making

We the 99% will have carried out their revolution to take over the government, giving the people’s government to oppressors. This is reminiscent of Martin Niemöller’s warning, "First they came…"! From Wikapedia: "First they came…" is a famous statement attributed to pastor Martin Niemöller (1892– 1984) about the inactivity of German intellectuals following the Nazi rise to power and the purging of their chosen targets, group after group. The text of the quotation is usually presented roughly as follows: First they came for the communists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak out because I was Protestant. Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me. Martin Niemöller (1892–1984) This is not to say big business is clean, but much of their filth has been licensed by corrupt government. To take the power of big business and give it to government is to assure government run business will become totally and completely corrupt. Will anyone in a government holding complete power become anything but corrupt to the core? Alinsky and his followers are not concerned about corruption. They see it as the natural state of things as described in “Rule for Radicals”. It is a tool they use “not coolly” but “coldly”, without conscience. They do not care if they create Hell on earth. Not as long as they are the leaders, the elite one percent in the hell they have devised. They, the wolves will not be happy until the 99% are sheep they control. It is up to the people to control governments and politicians to keep them more honest. It is up to the people to use the mechanisms our founding fathers gave us in the Constitution and their words and works to control the Alinky’s that are intent on making life Hell for the masses, like Lucifer, so they can secure power somewhere, anywhere, everywhere! THE END (I hope not)

The Dohn Community High School has launched a $40,000 incentive program to get students to come to class.” “The schools CEO Ken Furrier told CBS Cleveland that students will get Visa gift cards for showing up everyday for school, being on time for class and not getting into trouble. Seniors would get $25 while underclassmen would get $10. They would also get $5.00 in a savings account for the student who earns a gift card.” “I’m very excited to get the money,” 16-year-old student Arneqka Lester told the paper. “It makes me want to get to school on time. But some students don’t have the money and this will help them. It’s a good idea.” One cannot help but wonder at the wisdom of this strategy. Is paying students to attend school the new way to improve education? Some think paying children to attend school will educate them. Even once conservative Ben Stein threw up his hands in support as a last resort for a failing education system. Have they thought about the possible ramifications of such an approach? They are way off. It will only continue to educate students into behavior that a failing education system has already nurtured. They are actually being paid to participate in one of society’s privileges, education. Even if this plan succeeds, are we nurturing a respect for education or merely revealing greed and the focus on money our society has cultivated. Shouldn’t education be seen as a treasure in itself, a way to improve ones quality of life and potential as they become adults. Instilling a desire for education seems the appropriate path. Number 28 February 26, 2012 Paying students to attend school, Part 2. Its ramifications The education industry has done much to generate a warm and fuzzy atmosphere to make school a fun place to be. Sports, music and art have become more important than basic
