2007
Nokia recognized as 5th most valued brand in the
world. Nokia launches Ovi, its new internet services
brand.
2008
Nokia's three mobile device business groups and the
supporting horizontal groups are replaced by an
integrated business segment, Devices & Services.
12. 1. Nokia has played a pioneering role in the growth of
cellular technology in India.
2. Nokia started its India operations in 1995, and
presently operates out of offices in New Delhi,
Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad and
Ahmedabad.
3. The company has grown manifold over the years
with its manpower strength increasing from 450
people in the year 2004 to close to 6000 people
currently.

phones, has said India is its second largest market, after
China, in terms of handset sales.
India overtook markets such as the United Kingdom and
the United States in the quarter ended June 2007, based

2005 to the No. 3 position in 2006, and is today placed
