The itching begins
âYou really gotta to be ruthless about whatâs interesting and urgent and important. When you
are making a documentary you donât know what the answer is, but the question has really
got to, make you want an answer.â
. lucy walker . documentary ïŹlm maker .
âI was struck by the fact that once someoneâs story is told, the connection fades and you
never know what happened to them afterâ

ââPursuing everythingâ - Researches, read every thing, go to places, study languages, talk to
everybody. You have to know every thing, the ïŹlm itself is the tip of the iceberg, whatâs underneath
the surface is a whole giant understanding of not just whatâs important but also whatâs important to

âNo matter what I do to the piece, as long as I did something to those advertisements and
that saturation, itâs political. Itâs anti-media, antiâestablished art world.â
. posterboy . artist at large .
âI want to help grow a community of storytellers that allows us to collect and map our stories over time.
We want to pioneer a new form of participatory journalism, and create a library of human experience.â

And where the bug came from
âNew York, gives you the opportunity to make mistakes and try stuff. Meeting
musicians, artists, crazy visionaries/ people....I even tried DJing. New York enabled me
to do anything in any attitude.â
. lucy walker . documentary ïŹlm maker .
I ïŹnd most of my inspiration when walking through the city, or jogging. NYC is a very
stimulating city, which so much to see, notice, and even dislike.
. andrew shea . graphic designer .
I realized the power of storytelling when I shared the story of how my father was kidnapped for 6 months in
Colombia, and was amazed to see how much hope my story after being shared on the radio had given other
families.
