  1. It all started with a shelf full of encyclopedia’s and some very clever people who wanted to share the world’s knowledge with the rest of the world.
  2. Sometimes it feels like social media has been around for ages. When something so quickly becomes deeply ingrained in our lives, it’s hard to imagine what we did before Facebook came along.But as you can see here, it’s really only a few years old.
  3. In my opinion, this is the single most important moment in the evolution of social media.Facebook are about to go public for an unimaginable amount of money, because they surveyed the future of the internet and decided there wouldn’t attempt to be the ‘center’… Only a connective fabric.
  4. This kind of thinking takes genuine courage and foresight.
  5. Everyone is trying to figure out what’s going on in social media right now.What’s the ROI? Can it be monetised? How do we maintain a high level of engagement across multiple markets in metro, as well as regional while maintaining an authentic and ‘local’ voice?
  6. So to figure it out… We are logging on, in record numbers, all day, every day.Anyone recognise some of this behaviour?
  7. She’s not just nervous about meeting a boy.She worrying about how and when to change the digital representation of her personal brand.And she’s doing it in public.
  8. People who fully understand the platform, their audience and their message well enough to articulate context will OWN the social space.Give / Take ratio = 12 / 1
  9. Never stop listening or learning. There is no limit to what we can learn, and the business needs your eyes and ears!
