2. Vocabulary Outcome – a possible result of an experiment. Event – a collection of outcomes of an experiment. Favorable outcomes – once you specify an event, the outcomes for that event are favorable outcomes.
3. Vocabulary Probability – a measure of the likelihood that an event will occur, computed as (number of favorable outcomes) / (number or possible outcomes) when all the outcomes are equally likely. Complementary Events – events that have no outcomes in common and that together contain all the outcomes of the experiment.
