[Reflection question] Claire Either based on what you have written or what someone else has written
NATALIA (Overview: 10 min) Purpose: Our goal is to support leadership networks in the nonprofit sector Rationale: We believe that we can leverage network thinking to improve the way we practice leadership, so principles of openness, flexibility, decentralized control, etc. Audience: Individuals and organizations in the leadership development field, particularly funders, researchers and leadership program staff Question for the group: Do we want to target organizations that are more open to network leadership principles (early adopters) or those that are still struggling with understanding/embracing network leadership?
Natalia Recruit and attract partners who are committed to expanding the capacity for network leadership within and across organizations and communities Community engagement: Create a platform for partners to frame and respond to critical questions about network leadership and network leadership development, hold webinars and learning circles Develop products (e.g., publication, assessments)
Natalia Our main focus: publication outlining key ideas and strategies (we will talk about that later), assessment tool for leadership programs to evaluate how they are thinking about and implementing network leadership principles , and online resource directory. Other formats we were considering include a visual report (ppt) to highlight main points, and a webinar to engage the audience. Other ideas? What kind of content works best for each format? Maybe we can talk about this at the end when we get a chance to discuss the content strategy
Natalia We appreciate the fact that you are interested in joining this collaborative research initiative and believe that this is a great opportunity to influence both the leadership and networks fields, engage with other peers who are innovators in the field, and gain exposure for your work – there is an opportunity to co-brand the final products, if you are interested in that.
Natalia Share relevant resources Participate in discussion via webinars, calls, face-to-face meetings, online discussions, etc. Help write or edit the synthesis on the LNE website, as well as the publication – if you want to co-brand the publication Decide if you want to co-brand the pub for maximum impact Endorse and promote the content of the publication, tools and/or online resources
Natalia No need to show the website: main sections, networks: partners, call agenda, Boston meeting, content outline, directory; forum Webinars and meetings: 80 participants Other partners we want to recruit: Madeline Taylor and Peter Plastrik Bill Traynor Beth Kanter June Holley More…
Claire (what do have, what’s missing, what will we need to make the case and support changes in leadership development practices?) Question for the group: What important content is missing on network leadership and network leadership development? Question for the group: What ideas do people have for synthesizing and integrating content into products (e.g., publication, assessment, other)? What would be most valuable for our audience?
