The Greek enterprises lie between the levels of 28% and 29% in comparison to the total of the EU that lies close to 44%.
The % of enterprises sending and/or receiving e-invoices is close to 15% for 2010 with a significant distance from the EU27 (31%). For 2010, the percentage for the Greek enterprise was at the lowest levels of the EU with the minimum value that of Hungary, 8%.
The % of total turnover of enterprise from e-commerce although it presents an increase during the period of 2005-2011 is still away from the EU average. For 2010 the specific percentage sets the greek enterprises to the lowest levels among the EU
Information Society acts an intermediate body between the Managing Authority for Digital Convergence and enterprises (SMEs), the beneficiaries of the state aid actions. It implements 6 state aid actions of total budget for public expenditure more than 310 million euros, part of the structural funds under the National Strategic Reference Framework 2007-2013.
The most recent state aid initiative Information Society SA implements is ICT4GROWTH. The action supports financially enterprises to implement investment projects related to the design, development and commercialization of innovative products and value-added services which are based on Information and Communications Technologies (ICT). The action aims at enhancing the creation of a dynamic and enriched broadband content which is commercially exploitable. It targets the publishing sector (publication of books, scientific and University literature, publishers, media publishing), as well as information content providers. Its goal is to enrich the Greek online content, by enhancing at the same time its digital availability through multiple technological channels (digital book readers, tablet PC, mobile phone devices). The submission period was from 6/12/2010 – 28/1/2011 The budget of the investment plans ranges from €10.000 - €400.000 (according to company size) The duration of the projects is up to 18 months The total public expenditure of the digi-content initiative is 1 6 million € So far 315 applications have been submitted electronically while investments plans 238 have been approved. The digi-lodge state aid actions assists the tourism sector (hotels, lodges, etc.) to: Develop multi-lingual websites that provide e-booking systems with secure transaction platforms Improve back-office and front-office systems that enhance the hotel’s efficiency (CRM, Hotel Management software etc.) Provide customers with in-house wireless networking facilities Run digital marketing and promotion campaigns using strategically the social media and others services such as Search Engine Optimisation The digi-lodge initiative was among the 24 finalists of the RegioStars Awards 2012. It was distinguished as a good practice, an original and innovative project for regional development. The submission period was from 15/9/2009 to 28/2/2011 The budget of the investment plans ranges from €7.000 - €40.000 The total public expenditure of the actions amounts to €34 million During the submission period 2.859 applications were submitted electronically. 1.860 investments plans of € 28,9mil were approved. So far 1.732 hotels and lodges completed the investment plans of total budget € 23.2mil. Currently the completed projects are being evaluated and certified.
