This is from a workshop on January 26 - February 2, 2015 with representatives from the Information and Communication Technologies Department and Library Department at St. Paul Hospital Millennium Medical College in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. availability - locally you control all components, on remote you do not ...
- remote will likely provides greater redundancy
performance - faster access possible with local data
cost - can outsource mail, web, calendar
security - complicated policy more easily implemented locally
where is your data? (Google - who knows?)
privacy - who is actually looking at your data? (Phone pictures suddenly appear)
