2. The Devil
The Devil is a worldwide legend that has got many individuals
curious about whether to believe the tales of which they are told.
He has many nicknames but the most common namely ‘Satan’, is the
one that seems to have left a lasting impression. When
supernaturalism and religion are constantly at conflict with one
another's belief, the Devil is one that is agreed upon no matter
what your beliefs although interpretations may be different. The
Devil is a supernatural entity that is at war with God and that is a
enemy of such and humankind. No matter what the rendition the
devil is always forcing people to do things against their will and
taking those who have ‘misbehaved’ in their lifetime and he now
declares his for the taking. The Devil is portrayed in many
different ways like having a red face and horns when really it is
known he can morph into any shape or form like many modern horror
movies portray.
The way this relates to our opening sequence is the strong sense
of evil that rides through the whole sequence. Also the corrupting
of making the innocent bad relates to our sequence as her innocence
3. Witches
A witch is a being that practises witch craft and is known to
be a worshipers or contenders of the Devil and idolized his
actions on Earth, specialising in the harm of people and
property. Witchcraft is the carrying out of spells whilst
using supernatural and magical powers. Like The
Devil, witches have been made out to ride broomsticks and
have green faces when really they could be in any shape or
form.
The way this relates to our opening sequence is because in
the story the girl is made out to be a witch when really she
is warning them of evil. Taking the idea further that witches
have no typical convention, we have decided to show flashing
images of witches as average looking women later on in the
film.
