who hears these words of
mine and puts them into
practice is like a wise man
who built his house on
the rock.

The rain came down, the
streams rose, and the winds
blew and beat against that
house; yet it did not fall,
because it had its foundation
on the rock.

•The RAIN came down, the
STREAMS rose, and the

•24"These words I speak to
you are not incidental
additions to your life,
homeowner improvements
to your standard of living.

•They are foundational
words, WORDS TO BUILD A
LIFE ON. If you WORK THESE
WORDS INTO YOUR LIFE,
you are like a smart
carpenter who built his
house on solid rock.

•25 Rain poured down, the
river flooded, A TORNADO
HIT--but nothing moved that
house. It was fixed to the
rock.

• 26 "But if you just use my words
IN BIBLE STUDIES and don't
work them into your life, you are
like a stupid carpenter who built
his house on the sandy beach.
• 27 When a storm rolled in and
the waves came up, it collapsed
like a house of cards."

10. THE MOST IMPORTANT
ATTRIBUTE
•In the season
•Of selfish living
•Of Entitlements or rights.
•Of Grace without Groaning
•Of Blessings without bruises
•Of crowns without crosses
•Of titles without battles

ATTRIBUTE
•We need Doers not Sayers.
•We need Practical not nominal
Christians.
•We need words and works; because
•Words without works lack
credibility.
•Works without words lack clarity.

12. The three S's of Testing
1.SUCCESS (RAIN CAME DOWN)
•rain is always described in
the bible as a positive thing.
•it always refers to success or
blessing.

• Rain comes from God. “that you
may be children of your Father in
heaven. He causes his sun to rise
on the evil and the good, and
sends rain on the righteous and
the unrighteous.” (Matthew 5:45
NIV)

• “The Lord will open the heavens,
the storehouse of his bounty, TO
SEND RAIN ON YOUR LAND IN
SEASON AND TO BLESS ALL THE
WORK OF YOUR HANDS. You will
lend to many nations but will
borrow from none.” (Deuteronomy
28:12 NIV)

•When success comes to us and
find a weak foundation it will
destroy the building/Person.
•We may become arrogant,
puffed up, talkative, pompous,
& forget God.

• Deuteronomy 8:12-18
• 12 Make sure that when you eat
and are satisfied, build pleasant
houses and settle in, 13 see your
herds and flocks flourish and more
and more money come in, watch
your standard of living going up
and up--

• 14 make sure you don't become so full of
yourself and your things that you forget
GOD, your God, the God who delivered
you from Egyptian slavery; 15 the God
who led you through that huge and
fearsome wilderness, those desolate, arid
badlands crawling with fiery snakes and
scorpions; the God who gave you water
gushing from hard rock;

• 16 the God who gave you manna
to eat in the wilderness, some- -
thing your ancestors had never
heard of, in order to give you a
taste of the hard life, to test you so
that you would be prepared to live
well in the days ahead of you.

• 17 If you start thinking to yourselves,
"I did all this. And all by myself. I'm
rich. It's all mine!"-
• 18 well, think again. Remember that
GOD, your God, gave you the strength
to produce all this wealth so as to
confirm the covenant that he
promised to your ancestors--as it is
today.

• God spoke to DC in the early 90s that
they (Christians) were entering a
season of prosperity but he cautioned
also that many would fall away
because of prosperity.
• People would live a double standard,
people would despise leaders, People
would despise their parents who
brought them up

D.L. Moody says that,
“Adversity hath slain
her 1,000s, but
prosperity her 10,000s.”

25. What is Good Success?
•It is leaving behind successors.
•Success without a successor is
failure.
•“Measure …success by the success
of the successor” Myles Munroe
•When we leave “success” without
successors we leave chaos instead.

• When Michael Jackson died people
began to fight over custody of his
children & his assets.

• Preparation & mentoring
successors is important.

27. A child's wish (A small story)
A Primary School teacher asks her
pupils to write an essay "what wish do
you want from God?"
At the end of the day, the teacher
collects all the essays given by her
pupils. She takes them to her house,
sits & marks them. While marking the
essays, the teacher sees a strange
essay written by one of her pupils.

That essay made her very
emotional. Her husband
comes and sits beside her
and saw Her crying. The
husband asked his wife
"What happened?". She
answered "Read this. It is
one of my pupil's essay.

""Oh God, Make me into a Television.
I want to live like the TV in my house.
In my house, the TV is very valuable.
All of my family members Sit around
it. They are very interested in it. When
the TV is talking, my parents listen to
it happily and calmly.

They don't shout at the TV.
They don't quarrel with the
TV. They don't slap the TV. So
I want to become a TV. The
TV is the center of attraction
in my house. I want to receive
the same special care that the
TV receives from my parents.
Even when it is not working,
the TV has a lot of value.

When my dad and mom come
home, immediately they sit in front
of the TV, switch it on and spend
hours. The TV is stealing the time of
my dad and my mom. If I become a
TV, they will spend their time with
me.

While watching the TV, my parents
laugh a lot and they smile many times.
But I want my parents to laugh and
smile with me. So please make me into
a TV.

And last but not least, If I
become a TV, surely I can
make my parents happy and
entertain them. Lord I don't
ask you anything. I just want
to live like a TV. Please make
me into a TV."

the essay. He said "My God, poor
kid. He feels loneliness.
He did not receive enough love
and care from his parents. His
parents are horrible".

glory & honor when Jesus Christ is
revealed.

•How do we respond to temptation?
•What do you do when the pressure
comes? Do you collapse like
Samson (Judg. 16:15-19) or do you
stand like Joseph (Gen 39:11-21)?
