After the video we shall have a discussion to assess the degree that the students understood the video,
and to answer any under lying questions. After the discussion I will have the students compare and
contrast Russia Day to Independence Day.
After comparing and contrasting I will bring out food that is typical in 4th of July celebrations which
includes: watermelon, macaroni salad, fried chicken, and chips and dip.
After the food I will explain the use of fireworks by using temperature to describe their color, I will also
use a pompom on the students’ hands so they will be able to understand the idea of fireworks.
After this unit students will know the basics of the 4th of July to a degree of 80%
