Reports of Google Plus’s demise remind me of Mark Twains’s comment about reports of his death being exaggerated. G+ -- already boasting hundreds of millions of registered users and ranking 5th among social networks (behind FB, Twitter, and also Google’s own YouTube) -- is the new best practice. Pundits focused on the horse race between G+ & FB have got it all wrong. G+ is not a stand along social network, it’s an enhancer to Google, and it’s socializing and creating better links across the entire social web. For SEO and it’s rich features, like Hangouts, creative photo editing suite, and the most beautiful mobile interface out there, G+ is a winner. And now it’s API is open and integrated with Flipboard. I expect its API to become open to the rest of us within a short amount of time.
