Volunteees in training
1. In January we enrolled 40 people in our ITA Training Program
for their personal development and economic stabilization.
We helped them read, write and listen better. We helped
them with computer training with hands on methods.
This is what happened to some of them
John M. was sent out as an Intern to one job and a computer consultant on another job… he got both Jobs.
Kadeem B. enhanced his Interviewing skills and did an aggressive research of the companies he wanted to work for. He entered an Internship
and is now working in the medical field.
Luis S. / Michael K. / Carlos R. / Evan H. / Shawn H. and Hassan J. trained in Landscaping and Gardening are now employed.
Wilma S. had a job went she came, now she received a promotion at her job.
Ethel H. was hired temporarily at the Convention Center and continues to work there on a regular basis.
Calvin H. is selling newspapers and earning money now.
Daniel W. is designing computer websites and social sites.
Tony W. is an electronic repairman
Shernal D. is an administrative assistance and receptionist at a nonprofit organization.
Denise A. is a manager of a behavioral health program.
Cecila S. is now an assistant manager at a retail store.
More than 2/3 of our participating adult individuals who are returning citizens to society, in a substance abuse recovery program, or assigned to
an EARN Center and receiving public assistance are succeeding in making life changing decisions.
These are some of the success stories taking place almost daily due to the efforts of the Harmonious Volunteer Center and it’s supportive
Community Based Organizations.
