3. Who knew that to survive
you need science,
technology, engineering,
and math?
4. SCIENCE
• How will you purify water? (How much do you
need a day to survive? How much will you
need to wash clothes, dishes, feed animals,
water crops, etc)
• How will you keep pests out? (rats, mice,
bugs)
• How will you travel? (car, horse, bike, boat)
• How will you protect yourself? (gun,
bow/arrow, bat, knife…how close do you want
to get???)
• First aid—what will you have?
5. TECHNOLOGY
• How will you stay warm? Cool?
• How will you keep food from spoiling or
freezing?
• How will you prepare food? Preserve food?
• How will you stay clean? Killing zombies is
dirty work!!!!
• How will you have light? What will you use?
• How will you recharge batteries?
6. ENGINEERING
• How will you protect your family? (Location,
barricades, materials, escape route, look outs,
cooking area, crops, animals, etc)
• What will you use for power? (Solar, wind,
hydropower, etc.)
• What clothing will you use to protect against
zombies? (leather items, gloves, boots, kevlar)
• What tools will you need to survive? (hammer,
chainsaw, wrench, etc)
7. MATHEMATICS
• Calculate how much food you will need—you
want a balanced diet to stay healthy!
• Calculate much medicine would you need?
• How much exercise do you need to remain fit to
fight or flee from zombies?
• How much fuel will you need?
• Calculate the materials you will need to recon
missions so that you are protected and
nourished, but not slowed down. (take 3 food
items, 3 protection items, and 3 first aid items)
• Map out the best route to certain locations to
replenish supplies, get water, contact other
survivors)
