2. LeasingWorld – The Team
Jan Szmigin, MBA (Cranfield), began his financial marketing career in 1980 as a relationship
manager at Chase Manhattan Bank and moved into leasing as VP-Marketing. After seven years
as managing director of Hambros Vendor Leasing, he shifted focus to Central and Eastern
Europe. There he established one of the first leasing companies in Poland, followed by a
captive network for AT&T Capital from a hub in Vienna. He concluded this period abroad by
establishing De Lage Landen Leasing Polska SA. After returning to the UK he was a Principal
for a leasing consultancy for seven years before founding LeasingWorld.
