Do Those Promotional Items Really
      Help Your Business?

• With the current economy many businesses
  are looking for ways to cut back expenses in
  order to make more of a profit. While this is a
  necessity for some businesses one area that
  most businesses should actually spend a little
  more on is those promotional items because
  these small little gifts to your customers and
  potential customers is not only a smart way of
  advertising but, they can actually increase
  your business and your customer loyalty.
How Does That Mouse Pad, Pen, or
  Coffee Cup Help My Business?
• You may not think that promotional items do much to
  increase your business but, they actually do and in a down
  economy such as this they can actually increase your
  business more than you know. Think of it this way. Most
  people are surviving on a very limited budget and feel that
  they are taken advantage of by the government and
  business as well. Then along comes a business that gives
  you something for free as a small thank you for doing
  business with them or simply visiting their business.
  Suddenly in that customer's eyes that promotional item
  becomes something of value because it was unexpected
  and to them a thoughtful gesture. If the promotional item
  is something that they can use, no matter how small that
  item may be, it is all the more valuable.
• So, then the next time they need that product
  you sell or that service you provide they are
  much more likely to remember that gift and
  take their business to you rather than your
  competitor even if they could get that product
  or service slightly cheaper at the other
  business. So, in that way those promotional
  items cement customer loyalty to your
  business and keep those customers coming
  back again and again.
• However, the value of that promotional item
  to your business doesn't stop there. Your now
  loyal customers are bound to tell their friends
  and relatives about your business and at least
  some of them are going to become new
  customers. Then when you next offer
  promotional items they too will feel more like
  valued customers and tell their friends and
  family and so on and so.
• In an economy where everything costs more
  and more, getting that free promotional item
  means more and more. Whether that
  promotional item is a mouse pad, a pen, a
  door mat, or a food item doesn't matter, what
  matters to that customer is that your business
  was willing to go that extra little bit and
  reward that customer for spending their
  money on your products or services.
• So before you decide that the budget for
  those promotional items should go in order to
  save you money and allow you to make a
  bigger profit, weigh the cost of those
  promotional items against the potential
  business you can gain from keeping them.
  And then ask yourself, “Is my competition
  giving away promotional items that are going
  to win over some of my customers?”
