3. The power of media
• http://himnakan.mskh.am/node/772
Mass media touches all the spheres of
our lives. Since early childhood, it has
been playing an important role in
forming our personality, providing us
with information of any kind.
4. Table Manners
• http://himnakan.mskh.am/node/975
Good table manners are very important.
To let anyone see what you have in your
mouth, to make a noise is offensive. To
make a mess in the plate is disgusting. So
there are some rules how to behave
yourself at the table. . . .
5. Thanksgiving day
• http://himnakan.mskh.am/node/833
There is one day a year when all
Americans stay home with their families
and have dinner together. It is
Thanksgiving Day. The pilgrims
celebrated the first Thanksgiving Day in
the fall of 1621. They sailed to America on
board the "Mayflower" ship for religious
freedom. They were among the first
European settlers in America. . . .
6. Homeless animals
• http://himnakan.mskh.am/node/1103
Walking along the street, we can always
see some creatures. It can be a dog or a
cat. They all are different, but there is one
thing which unites them. These animals
have not any home and any headmaster.
The problem of such homeless animals is
serious nowadays, and people try to find
best solution to this problem.
That homeless animals can be very
dangerous for people. . .
7. Christmas rose
• http://himnakan.mskh.am/node/1167
A well known English plant, the Christmas
rose, is a true Christmas flower. It is
sometimes called the Snow or Winter
Rose. It blooms in the depths of winter in
the mountains of Central Europe. Legend
links it with the birth of Christmas and a
little shepherdess named Madelon. As
Madelon tented her sheep one cold and
wintry night, wise men and other
shepherds passed by the snow covered
field where she was with their gifts for
the Christ Child. . . .
8. Cowboys
http://www.mskh.am/am/10269
Cowboys today are different from the
ones long ago. In the old West, the
Cowboys watched the cattle and were
usually working outside. Some of them
could tame wild horses or track
animals, and almost all of them got to sleep
by the campfire under the stars. There are
tales of Cowboys in many countries
including North and South
America, Spain, Mexico and Australia.
Pictures of these Western heroes show us
how they looked and what they wore.
Many of the authentic cowboys had long
hair and mustaches and beards were
common. Cowboys spent long weeks or
months taking care of cattle and horses. . .
9. Music
• http://mskh.am/am/10737
Music is all around us!
No one person invented music.
Many people think music was
not invented at all, but discovered!
The music is around us from
the time the first humans existed on
earth.
A long, long time ago, people
learned to hear sounds. . . .
10. Our library
http://www.mskh.am/am/11081
Libraries are very important in the
life of all people. We can't buy all
the books that we want to read.
That's why we often take books
from libraries. Now I want to tell
you about my school library. It is
not a common one; it is developed
for the new generation, that is
particularly for us. . . . .
11. Friendship
• http://himnakan.mskh.am/node/480
The most important feeling that exists
between friends is trust.
It never appears by itself, it's the result of
a long friendship and this feeling is very
valuable. . . .
