PLASTIC EXTRUDER +
CNC PLATFORM
An extruder put small
beads of thermoplastic
material to form layers
on to a CNC controlled
plattform. The material
hardens immediately
after extrusion from
the nozzle.

12. Ink-jet Powder 3D Printing
POWDER (Plaster or
Resin) + BINDER (Colour,
CMYK)
A layer of powder is
spread at a time and an
inkjet printing a colour
binder draws the cross-
section of the part. The
process is repeated until
every layer is printed.

17. Some tricks for exporting
*.STL files
Check your model is completly closed (Rhino. Analise >
Show Naked Edges)
Export the model as *.STL (Rhino. Check export closed
geometry only)
If the machine soft ware says the file is not
printable > Open the *.STL file with a 3D editor
and use the mesh repairing tools to close it (Rhino.
Mesh > Fill holes)
