1. With our artist research we found it hard to gain feedback as when we uploaded the
video to YouTube it got blocked immediately in every country bar Australia. As we are
not in Australia nor know anyone there to rate our video we had to find other ways to
broadcast and show our video to peers and other students. I uploaded the video directly
to my Tumblr blog and posted a link to it to my Facebook page to try and gain
feedback. We received 6 positive comments on the link and 3 Facebook ‘Likes’. The
comments consisted of one peer saying “ love the camera angles youve gone for!” i am
very happy with this comment as we aimed our camera angle to show the emotions of
the people filmed and i feel this has been displayed well in our video. Other comments
made aren’t so specific just a general ‘well done’ from peers. Two comments do include
constructive criticism about the quality of the lip-syncing, and note made to the fact that
our male artist slurs his words alot so when we tried to match up the video with audio
we had difficulty making it a clean cut because of the way his mouth moved.
From looking at our audience we have gained it is both male and females aged 15-20
although this is heavily influenced by the ‘friends’ i am connected to through facebook as
only they could view the video. I feel this is a major setback as i would have liked a
bigger variety of people to view it to gain comments and wider statistics to determine
whether our video fits into the target audience associated with Crystal Castles.
I feel our main improvements from looking at our audience feedback are;
· I would re-shoot the lip-syncing and be sure we have enough un-slurred footage
to play around with making our video look more professional and less amateur.
· I would also look into different ways we can broadcast our video and different
ways we can find correct statistics for our audience beforehand in case of it not be
allowed on YouTube.
· Spend alot more time in the editing stage as our footage looked amateur and we
could have levelled this out with extra time spent making the editing better and more
professional.
