5 Happening Things to Look up to in the Dance Music World – 2016
1. 5 Happening Things to Look up to in the Dance Music World – 2016
2015 has been an encouraging year for EDM but what about 2016?
Hopefully, we all will get to see some miraculous changes this year. EDM is indeed the
sound of our generation and the fastest growing music scene ever. Though the year has
just dropped in, there are a few changes that we can all be fairly certain of happening
this year.
So, here we go. Check out the top 5 changes that will certainly happen in the world of
Dance Music in 2016!
1. Daft Punk’s Return to House
Rumors are continually circulating about the possibility of Daft Punk’s return with a
bang! No one knows what he is up to, but expectedly, he is busy with his next album
and a massive tour. BBC recently released a documentary that covers their rambling
career. This somehow indicates their comeback to the House.
2. Tiesto’s Return to Trance
Is it so? But this is not going to be a permanent shift. The exciting part is the
appearance of Tiesto’s name on the line-up of Trance-only festival ‘Dreamstate’. Tiesto’s
comment on “how Trance is not relevant anymore and does not feel like anybody cares”
created buzz all over. After the overwhelming response to Dreamstate, the genre seems
to be finding its footing again!
3. All’s Not Well with SFX?
You heard it absolutely right…. The predictable long slow death of SFX will finally be the
reality this year. It feels bad to know that they are bankrupt now. Issues started with the
cancellation of festivals and the New Year started off not seeing a possible Live Nation
buyout. Their demise will hurt their fans for sure!
4. Downfall of Ghost Producing
Though Ghost producing is still ruling the industry, there are many DJs who are against
the practice. Well known ghost producers are open about what they exactly do and no
one pays attention to their work. Such song producers prefer being in studio, making
music and not performing it on stage. But right now, producers want credit for their
hard work. Therefore, there is much scope for the new born talent; they can definitely
work their best and gain name and fame!
2. 5. Cheers to Mini-Festivals!
We’ve seen the success of festivals that cater to a particular portion of audience,
providing fun and better access to artists. So, what’s the need for grand and mega
festivals? It’s all about getting popular and entertaining audience and size really doesn’t
matter here. Mini festivals will be gaining more popularity this year too!
