  1. La revolución del cliente que estamos experimentando en este momento es uno de esos cambios – es un cambio generacional. Aun cuando muchos han dicho que el cambio de dar mas control y mas influencia al cliente es un cambio de paradigma, en la realidad eso no es posible. Cambios de paradigma necesitan una manera revolucionaria de conducir negocios, a la cual la compañía debe de adherirse o perecer. Aun cuando la transferencia del control al cliente es un hecho importante, no hay una revolución en movimiento – mas como un evolución. Y evoluciones son cambios generacionales.El cambio generacional previo, come ya he dicho, fue la introducción de la computadora personal en las compañías. Hoy estamos introduciendo la tecnología social, y la Generación Y es la responsable. Ellos son los que se criaron con tecnología como componente esencial de sus vidas, y usando redes sociales en vez de redes humanas para apoyarse y entender mejor al mundo, para aprender, y para incrementar sus poderes como clientes. Desde que la WWW apareció a mediados de los 1990s, ellos fueron los que adoptaron el modelo y las tecnologías mas rápido y con fervor. A medida que empiezan a penetrar las compañías ellos son también los que encabezan los cambios dentro de la compañía, y los que promueven el uso de las tecnologías sociales.Hay bastante libros que hablan de que características tienes la gente de la Generación Y, pero la demanda por experiencias es una de ellas. No quieren simplemente “tener” las cosas, quieren experiencias que acompañen a las acciones. Estas experiencias varían desde muy simples a my complejas, pero la única manera de entenderlas e implementarlas es preguntarles a los clientes nuevos que es lo que quieren tener, que experiencias necesitan de la compañía. Como yo dije antes, la adopción de una iniciativa de manejo de la experiencia significa que deben planear diferentes experiencias para diferentes clientes, y estos son los clientes que las demandan y las esperan.
