2 peter 2d
1. God is the Judge of all. Fret not thyself because of evil-doers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. Psalm 37:1
2. 2 Peter 2:10-11 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. (any law greater than themselves) Presumptuous are they , self-willed, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities. Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.
3. Angels -- as powerful as they are, will not commit slander against any one of God's creation . But these proud and self-willed teachers do not hesitate to blaspheme even the angels. It is as nothing for them to slander God's true teachers and pastors.
4. 12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; Those who follow their instincts , doing whatever comes naturally to them, Are living according to their sin nature , and Are living as animals .
5. Wisdom is not according to instinct. Instinct arises out of our sinful nature . Wisdom is to follow the law s of the God Who made us . They speak evil of the things that they don't understand, and refuse to understand. They are as natural brute beasts .
6. Refusing to bring every thought to the obedience of Christ, they act against God's righteous precepts. They walk after the flesh, they go on in sinful courses, and increase to greater degrees of impurity and wickedness. They also despise those whom God has set in authority over them, and requires them to honor. Matthew Henry Concise Bible Commentary. Hebrews 13 7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the Word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. 8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.
7. Any pastor or Bible teacher who does not say what these people want to hear, Is despised and rejected as worthless in their carnal minds.
8. 12 They shall utterly perish in their own corruption. They want the best this world has to offer; They may get it. But, none of it will bless them, and in the end , they will lose all that they hold dear.
9. We presume upon God's Grace and Mercy When we knowingly and willfully sin, with the idea that God has to forgive us. No lover of God would treat Him that way. That is the arrogance that will result in destruction. Proverbs 16 18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 11 6 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness (their very wickedness) .
10. They call obedience legalism, And licentiousness grace.
11. Psalms 1 1-3 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the Law of the Lord; and in His Law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
