1. Jesus obeyed the Father, even unto death. 1 John 2:6 He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked.
2. 1 John 2 1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not . And if any man sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous: 2 And He is the Propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. 3 And hereby we do know that we know Him, if we keep His Commandments. 3. 4 He that saith, I know Him, and keepeth not His Commandments, is a liar, and the Truth is not in him. "Keepeth not" = an absolute denial and rejection of God's Word to follow after self. "I know Him" = I have an intimate personal relationship with Him. I love Him. I know Him as Savior and Lord of my life. I have fellowshi p with Him.
4. God can not be separated from His Holy Word. It is impossible to love God and hate His Word . Every Word of God is pure; He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him. Proverbs 30:5 To trust God is to trust His Word. To love God is to love His Word. God's Word is the Holy Bible .
5. On the other hand, To reject God's Word is to reject God. John 1 1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of Grace and Truth.
6. 5a But whoso keepeth His Word, in him verily is the Love of God perfected : We fully experience and enjoy the Love of God, as we live our lives according to His Word. God's love toward us is manifested through the blessings of life lived by His Word . 1 John 1 4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
7. 5b hereby know we that we are in Him. When we are fully experiencing and enjoying God's Love within us, We have no doubt that we are in Him. When we have walked in sin and have not repented , there is distance in our relationship. We are not enjoying fellowship with our Lord.
8. 6 He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked. John 12 49 (Jesus) For I have not spoken of Myself; but the Father which sent Me, He gave me a Commandment, what I should say , and what I should speak . 50 And I know that His Commandment is life everlasting : whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto Me, so I speak . Jesus walked in humble and willing obedience to God the Father.
9. John 14 31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave Me Commandment, even so I do . Arise, let us go hence. Jesus obeyed the Father, even unto death. 6 He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked.
10. WWJD "What would Jesus do? Some outrageous things have been said about this. "He would drive a certain car. "He would vote a certain way.
11. "What would Jesus do? We don't have to guess. Jesus lived according to God's Word then. He would live according to God's Word now. 2 Timothy 2 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth .
12. That is how we must live our lives. Living out the Will of God as it is taught in His Word .
